Overview

We are the Windows Servicing and Delivery (WSD) organization, our core mission is to keep customers protected and productive by delivering seamless and timely Windows updates to our customers in existing and future versions of Windows. This work demands solving complex challenges in the Windows operating systems and building mission-critical services and infrastructure. In addition to updates, we empower commercial and enterprise customers with products and solutions to deploy and secure their devices effectively.

Our team, Trusted Servicing & Experiences (TSX) plays a critical role in building and enhancing the validation platform along with building AI based tools for enhancing test execution and failure analysis. This platform is responsible for running validations for all supported Windows OS Servicing releases. The team uses large-scale distributed systems to run validation and test jobs to ensure our customers receive the highest quality Windows updates every month. This team is also responsible for building best experience for our engineers by applying AI in building tools that make development and processes more agile and efficient. We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our mission. In this role, you will be involved in the design, development of highly scalable, reliable software systems, shape technical strategies, and build cloud services that operate at high availability and scale. You will lead the design and implementation of new features by aggregating data streams, writing business logic, designing user interfaces – all using the most advanced technology stack.

Responsibilities

• Design and Develop features and tools to support massive code churn of Windows OS to keep our Windows Customers protected and productive.
• Reproducing, debugging, and fixing Validation and Experiences tool pipeline problems.
• Crafting high-quality, bug-free fixes with low compatibility risk.
• Improving performance, reliability of existing systems.
• Collaborating with OS engineers and other partner teams across Microsoft to enable to debug, develop, test and ship updates.
• Finding ways to improve products, tools, and processes for long-term benefit for Microsoft and customers.
• Mentoring engineers in the team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
• OR equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software development experience in C#, Azure and Cloud Technologies.
• Experience with relevant programming skills in C#, C++ or equivalent.
• Overall understanding of Azure and Cloud infrastructure.
• Ability to understand unfamiliar code bases, and debug server-side, multi-threaded, and highly scalable applications.
• Experience in working with Azure services like Service fabric, Kubernetes, Azure Batch, Keyvault.
• Experience with large scale services, architecture and technologies
• Proven design and problem-solving skills, with an emphasis on quality and engineering excellence.
• Demonstrated experience in collaborating with geographically distributed partner teams.
• Proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
• BS in Computer Science or equivalent preferred.
