Software Development Engineer - Job OverviewWe are looking for a Software Development Engineer with 4+ years of experience who can own backend systems and services across the product lifecycle.

This role focuses on building scalable APIs, distributed systems, and high-performance backend infrastructure that powers our healthcare platform.

We value engineers who can take ownership of problems, design reliable systems, and deliver production-ready solutions in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Own:Backend Systems & APIs

• Design and build scalable backend services and APIs
• Develop high-performance, reliable, and maintainable systems
• Ensure seamless integration across internal and external servicesDistributed Systems & Scalability
• Build and optimize distributed systems for high availability and fault tolerance
• Implement asynchronous and event-driven architectures using queues and streams
• Design systems for observability, resilience, and graceful failureData & System Performance
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases for transactional and high-scale workloads
• Optimize system performance across application, database, and infrastructure layers
• Ensure efficient data handling and system throughputCloud & Infrastructure
• Build and deploy services on AWS, GCP, or Azure
• Work with containerization technologies such as Docker (Kubernetes is a plus)
• Implement monitoring, logging, and alerting for production systemsEngineering Excellence
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
• Participate in code reviews and improve engineering standards
• Take ownership of services from development through deployment and production

What We're Looking For:Must Have

• 4+ years of backend development experience
• Strong proficiency in Python, NodeJS, or Go
• Experience building and operating production backend systems and APIs
• Solid understanding of distributed systems and system design fundamentals
• Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills
• Ability to take ownership and work independently on complex problems

Nice to Have

• Experience with message brokers like Kafka or similar systems
• Familiarity with microservices architecture and event-driven systems
• Exposure to healthcare standards such as HL7, FHIR, or HIPAA
• Experience integrating with EHR/EMR systems or healthcare APIs
• Experience working on high-scale or data-intensive systems
