Job Purpose

The Product Manager (AI & Edge Computing) will help translate customer and operational needs into practical product solutions built around real-time video processing, embedded computing and AI-enabled analytics. Working closely with Sales, Engineering, R&D, Operations and customers, the role will support product understanding, requirements definition, system integration, demonstrations and product improvement for demanding applications, including defence, security and unmanned platforms.

This is an early-career role for a technically strong learner. Structured product and technology training will be provided; the successful candidate must bring sound fundamentals, curiosity and the ability to learn complex systems quickly.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technology & Product Understanding

• Develop a strong working understanding of AI-enabled edge-computing products, including embedded processing, video capture and processing, AI acceleration, analytics and real-time data transmission.
• Learn how capabilities such as object detection, classification and tracking are used in real-world applications, including their performance constraints and limitations.
• Build familiarity with relevant system components and concepts, which may include cameras and sensors, processors/AI accelerators, embedded software, video codecs, networking and system interfaces.2. Customer Needs & Product Requirements
• Work with Sales and Business Development to understand customer use cases, operating environments, technical requirements and desired outcomes.
• Translate customer needs into clearly documented product requirements, use cases, acceptance criteria and questions for Engineering/R&D.
• Research application trends, competing solutions and emerging requirements; help assess where the technology can create meaningful customer value.3. Product Integration & Technical Coordination
• Coordinate with Engineering, R&D and technology specialists to understand product capabilities, configurations, interfaces and integration requirements.
• Support evaluation of how AI and edge-computing modules can be integrated into platforms such as drones, unmanned ground systems, vehicles, surveillance systems or other relevant products.
• Track technical questions, dependencies, issues and decisions, ensuring customer expectations are aligned with what the product can deliver.4. Demonstrations, Trials & Pre-Sales Support
• Prepare for and support product demonstrations, proof-of-concept activities and field trials.
• Help configure demonstrations for specific customer applications, document observations and capture feedback systematically.
• Support Sales in responding to technical queries and preparing product information or technical inputs for proposals and tenders, with guidance from experienced colleagues.5. Product Documentation & Lifecycle Support
• Maintain clear product documentation, requirement records, configuration details, issue logs and demonstration/trial outcomes.
• Track product feedback and recurring issues, and share insights with Engineering/R&D and the wider team.
• Assist in maintaining product roadmaps, prioritising enhancements and following agreed milestones under the guidance of senior stakeholders.6. Continuous Learning & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Complete structured training and actively build expertise in AI, edge computing and the relevant product ecosystem.
• Explain technical concepts clearly to colleagues from technical and non-technical backgrounds.
• Work collaboratively across functions, take ownership of assigned deliverables and escalate risks or uncertainties early.

Key Success Measures

• Ability to develop a sound understanding of product architecture, AI capabilities and edge-computing concepts.
• Clear, accurate translation of customer use cases into documented product requirements.
• Effective support for product demonstrations, technical discussions and integration activities.
• Quality and timeliness of product documentation, feedback capture and follow-through on actions.
• Ability to learn quickly, collaborate across functions and progressively handle greater product responsibility.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics/Electronics & Communication, Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation, Mechatronics or a closely related technical discipline.
• 1–3 years of relevant experience, including internships, academic projects, research projects or early-career work in AI/ML, embedded systems, computer vision, robotics, video systems, IoT or related technologies.
• Strong foundational understanding of AI/ML concepts and an interest in how AI models are deployed and used on edge devices. Practical project exposure is an advantage.
• Familiarity with at least some relevant technical areas such as Python or C/C++, Linux, embedded platforms, computer vision, sensors/cameras, networking or video-processing concepts. Candidates are not expected to know every area.
• Ability to understand technical information, analyse problems, ask good questions and communicate clearly with technical and business stakeholders.
• Willingness to undertake structured training and build expertise in a specialised, evolving technology domain.

Preferred Attributes

• Hands-on academic or personal projects involving AI/ML, computer vision, embedded computing, robotics, drones or real-time systems.
• Exposure to edge AI deployment, model inference, video streaming, hardware/software integration or constraints such as latency, bandwidth, power and processing capacity.
• Comfort working in a technically demanding environment where requirements may evolve as customer use cases become clearer.
• Genuine interest in advanced technology applications in defence, security, aerospace, unmanned systems or industrial environments.
