Senior Report Developer

Role Responsibilities:

● 5+ years total experience, with at least 2-3 years specifically in Azure Data/BI stack.

● Prior ownership of a reporting layer or BI function (not just ticket-based report requests).

● Some exposure to architecture/design decisions, not purely execution.

● Client-facing or stakeholder-facing reporting experience (translating business tasks into data models) is useful since you'll want them to grow into a larger role.

● Mentoring or leading even 1-2 juniors is a good signal of growth trajectory.

Primary Skills:

● Node.js Backend/API development experience, not just scripting.

● Microsoft Fabric – Worked with Power BI in Azure environments and have transitioned to Fabric, or who list Fabric explicitly (Lakehouse, Data Factory pipelines within Fabric, Power BI datasets/semantic models in Fabric).

● Azure – broader ecosystem: Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics (common precursor to Fabric), Azure SQL.

● Cosmos DB – No-SQL document DB experience; look for people who've worked with Cosmos DB SDKs (often paired with Node.js in the JS SDK), partition key design, RU optimization.

Nice-to-have:

● ETL/ELT experience – Azure Data Factory, SSIS background, or Fabric Data Pipelines/Dataflows Gen2.

● Power BI report/dashboard building (DAX, Power Query/M) since "report development" usually implies this alongside raw data engineering.

● Data modeling (star schema, semantic layer design).
