If your answer is yes, RunLoyal could be the place for you.RunLoyal is a fast-growing vertical SaaS technology company building modern software for the pet care industry. Boarding facilities, daycare centers, groomers, trainers and dog parks use our platform to run their businesses and give pet parents a better experience. We headquartered in Atlanta, GA.

As RunLoyal continues to scale its platform, customer base, and engineering organization, we are looking for a Full Stack Engineer who wants more than a traditional development role.

This is an opportunity to work on a real SaaS product, solve meaningful customer and engineering problems, and take ownership of features from idea to production.

You will work closely with Product, QA, and other teams to understand the problem behind a requirement, contribute to technical decisions, build scalable solutions, validate them thoroughly, and support what you ship.

If you enjoy working in a growing product company where engineers are expected to think, build, improve, and own, this role is for you.

What You’ll DoOwn Features End to EndYou will contribute throughout the complete software development lifecycle—not just the coding phase.

You will:

  • Understand customer and product requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Participate in solution design, estimation, implementation, testing, release, and post-production support.
  • Build capabilities across frontend, backend, APIs, and databases when required.
  • Work closely with Product and QA to identify edge cases and validate real-world workflows.
  • Take ownership of delivered functionality and continuously improve it based on production learnings.Build Scalable Backend Systems
  • Design and develop production-grade applications using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build and maintain secure, reliable REST APIs.
  • Develop services within a microservices-oriented architecture.
  • Implement complex business rules, validations, error handling, and transactional workflows.
  • Design efficient database interactions and optimize SQL queries.
  • Troubleshoot service, API, integration, and database issues.
  • Contribute to system scalability, reliability, and performance.Create Strong Frontend Experiences
  • Develop responsive web applications using Angular, with React experience also valued.
  • Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs and services.
  • Build reusable components and maintainable UI workflows.
  • Implement validation, state management, data handling, and user interaction flows.
  • Troubleshoot browser, rendering, and frontend performance issues.
  • Work with Product and QA to ensure workflows remain intuitive and reliable across real customer scenarios.Raise the Engineering Bar
  • Write clean, readable, maintainable, and testable code.
  • Build meaningful unit and integration test coverage.
  • Participate actively in peer reviews and technical discussions.
  • Follow secure coding and software engineering best practices.
  • Refactor and improve existing systems instead of introducing avoidable technical debt.
  • Document important workflows, architecture decisions, and technical trade-offs.AI-Native Engineering at RunLoyalWe believe modern engineers should know how to use AI effectively—not as a replacement for engineering judgment, but as a force multiplier.

You will be encouraged and expected to use tools such as Claude Code, Codex, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent AI-assisted engineering tools for:

  • Development and prototyping
  • Debugging and root-cause analysis
  • Test generation
  • Refactoring
  • Technical documentation
  • Code review assistance
  • Exploring implementation approachesWhat matters is not simply using AI, but knowing how to provide the right context, evaluate generated output, identify risks, and turn AI-assisted work into production-quality software.

Own What You ShipProduction ownership is part of engineering at RunLoyal.

You will:

  • Investigate defects in the product areas you contribute to.
  • Analyze logs, APIs, SQL queries, application behavior, and integrations during troubleshooting.
  • Identify root causes instead of relying on short-term fixes.
  • Work with Infrastructure and other engineering teams when problems cross system boundaries.
  • Improve logging, observability, monitoring, and diagnostics where needed. What We’re Looking ForRequired Experience & SkillsWe are looking for engineers with approximately 4–7 years of professional software development experience, ideally within a SaaS, product, platform, fintech, or other transaction-heavy environment.

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented programming and software design principles.
  • Experience developing and maintaining customer-facing production applications.
  • Experience writing unit tests and integration tests.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and root-cause problem-solving skills.
  • Experience using Git, pull requests, code reviews, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions, risks, dependencies, and blockers clearly.
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability for delivered work.A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent professional experience and demonstrated engineering capability are equally valuable.

  • Payment systems, billing, subscriptions, or financial transactions
  • High-volume or data-intensive platforms
  • Golang or additional backend technologies
  • Mobile/backend integrations
  • Startup or scale-up product environmentsYou do not need to know every technology listed above. Strong engineering fundamentals, the ability to learn quickly, and demonstrated ownership matter more than checking every box.

How You’ll Succeed HereWe will look for more than completed tickets.

Product ThinkingYou understand why something is being built and consider how customers will actually use it.

Engineering JudgmentYou make thoughtful technical decisions, understand trade-offs, and design solutions that remain maintainable as the platform grows.

OwnershipYou follow a problem through requirement clarification, development, validation, release, and production support.

Problem SolvingYou can investigate unfamiliar problems systematically across frontend, backend, APIs, databases, and infrastructure.

CommunicationYou communicate clearly with engineers, QA, Product, and other stakeholders and raise risks before they become surprises.

Continuous ImprovementYou actively improve code quality, tooling, system performance, engineering practices, and your own technical capability.
