Role Description This is a full-time, remote role for a Python Developer + Kubernetes Engineer. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining backend services that power the QMind AI ecosystem, with a strong focus on clean, scalable Python code and robust APIs. You will build and manage containerized applications, create Kubernetes deployment manifests, and optimize workloads for reliability, performance, and security. Daily tasks include integrating with databases and external systems, implementing automated testing and CI/CD pipelines, monitoring production services, and troubleshooting issues across distributed environments. You will collaborate closely with data, product, and operations teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions and continuously improve the reliability of mission-critical trading and financial systems.

What You'll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain Python-based applications and services.
• Build and manage REST APIs and microservices.
• Deploy and manage applications on Kubernetes clusters.
• Containerize applications using Docker.
• Monitor and troubleshoot production workloads.
• Collaborate with product, platform, and engineering teams to deliver scalable solutions.
• Implement CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and security.
• Ensure platform reliability, availability, observability, and performance by implementing monitoring, alerting, automation, and incident management best practices.

Python Development

• Strong proficiency in Python
• Experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django
• REST API development
• Object-Oriented Programming (OOP)
• Exception handling and debugging
• Unit testing

Kubernetes & Containers

• Hands-on Kubernetes administration
• Experience with EKS, AKS, GKE, or self-managed clusters
• Pod, Deployment, Service, Ingress management

• Docker containerization

Qualifications

• Strong Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) skills, with advanced proficiency in Python.
• Experience in Back-End Web Development, including building and maintaining APIs and microservices.
• Solid Software Development practices, including testing, debugging, code reviews, and version control (e.g., Git).
• Hands-on experience working with Databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), including schema design and query optimization.
• Practical experience with Kubernetes (deployment, scaling, observability) and containerization tools (e.g., Docker).
• Familiarity with cloud platforms (such as AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
• Understanding of distributed systems, reliability engineering, and monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK).
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in trading, energy markets, or financial technology environments is a plus.
