Founder’s Office - Product
Understand problems. Build solutions. Take ideas live.
We’re looking for a curious, resourceful builder with 1-3 years of experience to work closely with Volopay’s founders on new products, internal tools and automations. You’ll help us figure out what to build, why it matters and how to make it work. Then you’ll get involved in building it. Some days, you’ll be speaking with users and mapping a workflow. Other days, you’ll be using AI coding tools to build a prototype, connecting APIs or working with engineering to take a solution live. The common thread: understand the problem, make thoughtful product decisions and carry the work through to a working solution.
What you’ll work on
- Identify problems worth solving: Speak with customers and internal teams, understand their workflows and find where better software can reduce effort or improve outcomes.
- Shape product decisions: Turn business needs and user feedback into clear requirements, user flows and priorities. Decide what belongs in the first version and what can wait.
- Build and test solutions: Use AI coding tools to create functional prototypes and working applications. Test ideas with users and improve them based on what you learn.
- Build internal tools and automations: Improve how teams work by connecting systems, automating repetitive tasks and making information easier to use.
- Work across the technical stack: Understand how the frontend, backend, APIs and databases fit together. Connect services, investigate issues and work with engineering when deeper expertise is needed.
- Take products live and improve them: Own testing, deployment and rollout. Track whether people use what you’ve built and whether it solves the original problem.
- Execute founder-led initiatives: Take ownership of ambiguous product projects, resolve blockers and drive them from an initial idea to a usable solution.
You’ll own defined projects from discovery through launch and iteration, working closely with the founders, engineering and the teams using what you build.
Who we’re looking for
- 1-3 years of experience in product, software development, technical operations, a founder’s office or a related role.
- A strong product mindset: you ask why something needs to exist, who will use it and what a useful first version should do.
- Hands-on building ability. You’ve created working tools, applications or automations through your job, side projects or independent learning.
- Comfort using AI coding tools such as Claude or Codex to build, debug and iterate, with the judgment to check whether the output works.
- A practical understanding of APIs, frontend and backend systems, databases, GitHub and deployment. You should be able to explain how your solution works and troubleshoot when it breaks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to usability, accuracy and edge cases.
- Clear communication: you can explain a problem, a proposed solution and the trade-offs involved.
- Ownership and independence: you learn quickly, test your assumptions and get things done without constant instructions.
An interest in fintech, payments or B2B software is useful. Previous fintech experience is a plus, not a requirement.
