Job Description

Job Title: Senior Manager, Software Engineering

Location: Bangalore (Onsite)

Reporting to: Director, Data & Analytics

PURPOSE OF ROLE

Lead the hands-on development of central applications and shared products for The core global analytics tech team., a team working across major global programs. Own existing applications and create new ones when novel problems need a product. Set a high bar for architecture, integration, and production quality while mentoring engineers and partnering with global TechOps, Engineering, and Data teams.

KEY TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Own the design, implementation, and evolution of central applications and shared products used across global programs.
  • Build full-stack applications for new and difficult problems, from early technical exploration through production release.
  • Define clear application architecture and integration points so other teams can adopt and extend what The core global analytics tech team. builds.
  • Write production code, review others’ code, and improve testing, security, performance, and operational reliability.
  • Make practical product and technical tradeoffs when requirements are ambiguous, with a focus on usable outcomes and maintainable systems.
  • Work closely with global TechOps, Engineering, and Data teams to connect applications to data, infrastructure, and existing products.
  • Manage and develop engineers through goals, feedback, design discussions, pairing, and code review while staying directly involved in implementation.
  • Help identify components and tools worth sharing across programs, and turn them into well-documented, reusable software.

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS

Education:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Experience:

  • Typically 8+ years building production software, including hands-on technical leadership. Demonstrated engineering judgment and depth matter more than a specific number of years.

Technical/Functional Skills:

Mandatory Skills:

  • TypeScript and React application development – Expert
  • Full-stack software design and implementation – Expert
  • Application architecture, APIs, and product integration – Advanced
  • Production engineering, testing, code review, and security practices – Expert
  • AI-assisted coding workflows and coding agents, such as Codex – Expert
  • Technical mentorship and communication – Advanced

Preferred (Good to have) Skills:

  • Azure and Databricks environments – Intermediate
  • Open-source contribution and reusable package development – Advanced
  • Experience building shared developer tools or internal products – Advanced
