JOB SUMMARY:

Global Information Security is seeking an experienced Scrum Master for Marriott Tech Accelerator to support Agile execution, delivery governance, and cross-functional coordination for cybersecurity and Identity & Access Management initiatives. This role facilitates Agile ceremonies, removes blockers, drives transparency, and helps globally distributed teams deliver secure technology outcomes aligned to Marriott business objectives.

The ideal candidate is comfortable operating in a global delivery model, partnering closely with US-based Product Owners, technical leads, program leadership, and MTA team members. The role supports backlog readiness, dependency management, risk and issue tracking, delivery metrics, stakeholder communications, and continuous improvement across Agile teams.

CANDIDATE PROFILE:

Education and Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree, equivalent experience, and/or relevant professional certification.
  • 7+ years of progressive project delivery as a certified SAFe Scrum Master practicing SAFe Agile methodology.
  • 4+ years working in an Agile environment with hands-on experience leading facilitation of Scrum ceremonies and supporting Agile teams as a coach / mentor.
  • Demonstrated experience using Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Office, and collaboration tools to manage team delivery, reporting, risks, decisions, and action items.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting globally distributed technology teams with clear communication, follow-through, and timely escalation.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting Program Increment planning, Agile release trains, product roadmaps, feature planning, and cross-team dependency management.
  • Demonstrated experience to work effectively with US-based stakeholders and India-based delivery teams, including managing time-zone overlap and asynchronous follow-up.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create concise status updates for both technical and leadership audiences.
  • Knowledge of delivery governance, release readiness, risk management, and metrics-based reporting in a product operating model.
  • Cybersecurity, Identity & Access Management, IGA, RBAC, SailPoint IdentityIQ, or enterprise security delivery experience.
  • High level of analytical ability to identify delivery risks, resolve complex issues, and recommend practical solutions.

Preferred:

  • PMP, or equivalent Agile/project management, SAFe certification. SAFe is must n PMP is second priority
  • Demonstrated experience managing delivery of Identity access management and other information security related Projects

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES:

  • Facilitates Agile ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and team working sessions.
  • Partners with Product Owners, technical leads, business analysts, engineers, testers, and program leaders to support delivery planning and execution.
  • Supports Program Increment planning by coordinating team readiness, dependencies, risks, objectives, and committed work.
  • Maintains visibility into delivery progress, sprint health, risks, issues, decisions, blockers, escalations, and team action items.
  • Tracks and communicates project status, milestones, resourcing needs, schedule impacts, dependencies, and delivery risks in a clear and timely manner.
  • Works across US and MTA teams to ensure handoffs, follow-ups, and decisions are documented and executed without avoidable delay.
  • Serves as a key escalation and coordination point for Agile teams, helping remove impediments and drive resolution of delivery issues.
  • Provides delivery governance support for cybersecurity, IAM, IGA, RBAC, application onboarding, and related Global Information Security initiatives.
  • Coordinates with internal partners including Global Technology, Digital, Legal, Privacy, Risk, product teams, and vendor teams as needed.
  • Supports backlog hygiene, acceptance criteria readiness, sprint commitments, release readiness, and team delivery metrics.
  • Produces and presents project-related materials, dashboards, status summaries, and leadership updates as needed.
  • Promotes consistent Agile practices while adapting to a fast-paced, ambiguous, and event-driven environment.

Maintaining Goals:

  • Submits status updates, delivery reports, and requested materials in a timely manner to support leadership decision-making.
  • Promotes accurate documentation of sprint progress, team priorities, action items, risks, and decisions.
  • Provides input and assistance to peer teams to improve delivery consistency, transparency, and execution quality.

Managing Work, Projects, and Policies:

  • Manages assigned workstreams and delivery coordination activities in alignment with Marriott standards and team operating norms.
  • Generates accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, dashboards, RAID logs, and meeting notes.
  • Analyzes delivery information and evaluates options to recommend practical solutions and remove execution barriers.
  • Provides timely, accurate, and detailed status reporting as requested by Global Information Security and program leadership.

Demonstrating and Applying Discipline Knowledge:

  • Demonstrates knowledge of Agile delivery, Scrum practices, project coordination, and technology delivery lifecycle processes.
  • Demonstrates familiarity with cybersecurity and IAM delivery concepts, tools, and governance expectations.
  • Keeps up to date on Agile practices, Marriott delivery standards, and applicable tools used across Global Technology and MTA.
  • Uses computer systems and collaboration tools effectively to enter, track, analyze, and communicate delivery information.

Delivering on the Needs of Key Stakeholders:

  • Understands stakeholder priorities and translates them into clear delivery actions, team follow-ups, and status communications.
  • Develops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish team delivery work.
  • Determines priorities, schedules, plans, and necessary resources to support completion of assigned initiatives on schedule.
  • Collaborates with internal partners and stakeholders to support product, platform, cybersecurity, and business initiative strategies.
  • Communicates concepts in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner that is easy to understand for technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Demonstrates an understanding of business priorities, delivery commitments, and the importance of secure, reliable technology outcomes.
