About the Role

We are looking for a highly skilled software engineer to join the Python Infrastructure team at a leading global investment and technology firm.

The team builds and maintains the foundational Python infrastructure that powers a wide range of internal applications and supports critical day-to-day operations. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-performance systems, core libraries, and infrastructure that enables engineers across the firm to build efficient and scalable applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and enhance the foundational Python infrastructure used across the firm.
• Develop infrastructure for analytical computations, data storage, and data services.
• Design efficient mechanisms for data storage and retrieval, along with high-performance data structures and data analysis tools.
• Develop parallel programming infrastructure to support distributed computing and the firm's computing grid using Python.
• Build server infrastructure that enables engineering teams to develop and deploy web servers.
• Develop and maintain Python-based unit testing and documentation infrastructure.
• Improve performance by optimizing core libraries using lower-level languages and compilation techniques.
• Required Qualifications
• 4–8 years of strong, hands-on experience with advanced Python programming.
• Excellent computer science fundamentals, including software design, analytical thinking, and problem-solving.
• Strong reasoning and communication skills.
• A genuine passion for technology and building robust, high-performance software.
• A strong academic background, preferably in Computer Science or a related engineering discipline.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with C or C++.
• Familiarity with Cython or Numba.
• Knowledge of ahead-of-time (AOT) or just-in-time (JIT) compilation techniques in Python.
• Experience in performance optimization.
