About the Role:

The Product Manager is the critical link between Exicom's markets and its manufacturing capability. The role owns the product from market insight through to demonstration and delivery, translating customer and market requirements, gathered through independent research and close collaboration with the Sales team, into specifications that Engineering, Operations and the Factory can build, customise and deliver against.

Bridging Engineering, Operations & Manufacturing

  • Work closely with R&D and Engineering to ensure product designs reflect real market requirements, not assumptions
  • Partner with Operations and the Factory/Production teams to assess manufacturability, customisation feasibility and delivery timelines
  • Manage the trade-off between customer customisation requests and manufacturing efficiency and cost

Product Lifecycle & Governance

  • Maintain requirement traceability from customer need through to delivered product, particularly important for defence-sector contracts and audits
  • Track product performance post-delivery and feed learnings back into future development
  • Support configuration management across product variants

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the primary point of coordination between Sales, Engineering, Operations and Manufacturing for all product-related decisions
  • Communicate product status, trade-offs and decisions clearly across all stakeholder groups

Key Performance Indicators

  • Products and customisations delivered that map directly to validated market and customer requirements
  • Reduced lead time between a customer requirement surfacing and a demonstrable or deliverable product
  • Demonstration and trial outcomes that translate into wins
  • Clean, audit-ready requirement traceability for defence-sector contracts
  • Strong, collaborative working relationships across Sales, Engineering and Manufacturing

Required Candidate Profile

  • Engineering degree (Electronics, Communication or Mechanical) preferred; MBA an advantage
  • 6-8 years of experience in product management, program management or related technical roles, ideally in defence electronics, telecom or industrial hardware sectors
  • Demonstrated experience translating market and customer requirements into technical product specifications
