Back End Developer

The company offers insurance solutions for individuals, families, businesses, and commercial clients, covering Motor, Health, Life, Travel, Home, Personal Accident, Business, Group, and Commercial Vehicle Insurance. Using a “Phygital” (physical + digital) approach, Novexa combines online tools with human support to make insurance more accessible and transparent. Team members contribute to a customer-centric experience across the entire insurance journey, from policy selection and purchase to ongoing policy management and claims support.

Role Description This is a full-time hybrid Back End Developer role based in Nagpur, with flexibility for some work from home. The Back End Developer will design, develop, and maintain server-side applications and APIs that power Novexa’s digital insurance platforms. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and secure code, integrating with databases and third-party services, and collaborating with front-end developers to ensure smooth end-to-end functionality. The role involves troubleshooting and optimizing application performance, implementing best practices for scalability and reliability, and participating in code reviews and technical documentation. The developer will work closely with product, QA, and business stakeholders to translate insurance workflow requirements into robust technical solutions.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Back-End Web Development and general Programming, with experience building and maintaining server-side applications.
• Proficiency in Software Development practices, including version control, testing, debugging, and deployment workflows.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and ability to design modular, maintainable code.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with Front-End Development teams to integrate APIs and ensure seamless user experiences.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases, RESTful APIs, and security best practices for web applications.
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a hybrid environment with cross-functional teams.
• Experience in insurance, fintech, or other regulated domains is an advantage but not required.
