Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Developer and Data Engineer at Work with youth. The person in this role will design, build, and maintain data pipelines and integrations that support youth-focused programs and internal analytics needs. Day-to-day work includes developing ETL processes, modeling and optimizing data structures, and maintaining data warehouses and related infrastructure. The role involves collaborating with program and analytics teams to translate requirements into technical solutions, ensuring data quality, reliability, and security. The Developer and Data Engineer will also document data workflows, monitor system performance, and propose improvements to enhance scalability and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Data Engineering skills, including building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
- Candidates should possess Data Modeling and Data Warehousing skills for designing structured, efficient data environments.
- Candidates should possess Extract Transform Load (ETL) skills for developing, scheduling, and monitoring ETL workflows.
- Candidates should possess Data Analytics skills for supporting reporting, dashboards, and insight generation.
- Experience with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data engineering (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala).
- Familiarity with cloud data platforms or services (e.g., AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and modern data tools.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Interest in youth development, social impact, or education-related initiatives is beneficial.
