About FuEL
FuEL is Intellect's Flagship program designed to develop the next generation of transformation leaders for the global Fintech/Insuretech industry. Created for high-potential professionals, the program equips participants to help financial institutions reimagine business models, accelerate digital and AI transformation, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
The Opportunity
This role is for a Trade Finance leader who combines deep domain expertise with hands-on technology and process experience. You will shape solution propositions for banks, actively demonstrate Intellect’s Trade Finance capabilities, and work closely with Engineering and Delivery to evolve the solution in response to market needs and client requirements. The role spans consultative engagement, product solutioning, sales support, and ongoing product
development—not just domain advisory or relationship management.
You will engage business, product, operations, and technology leaders to understand their objectives, diagnose process and business challenges, and translate them into practical, differentiated solutions. You should be equally comfortable leading a client workshop, running a product demonstration, developing a solution approach, and working with internal teams on the changes needed to deliver it.
Role Definition
The Vice President – Trade Finance Solutions owns domain-led solutioning and supports growth across Intellect’s Trade Finance portfolio. The role combines customer discovery, process analysis and reengineering, product demonstrations, solution design, bid support, and collaboration with Product, Engineering and Delivery to ensure that proposed solutions are credible, differentiated, feasible, and aligned with customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
● 1. Prospect Understanding and Process Reengineering: Engage bank and financial-institution executives, business heads, product owners, operations and technology leaders to understand business models, workflows, pain points and strategic priorities. Analyse existing processes and identify opportunities for simplification, automation, control improvement and business transformation.
● 2. Domain Expertise and Solutioning: Apply strong Trade Finance knowledge to translate business requirements
into practical solution propositions. Map customer processes and requirements to product capabilities, identify
gaps, distinguish standard product functionality from client-specific changes, and define appropriate solution options, assumptions and dependencies.
● 3. Product Demonstrations and Client Workshops: Personally lead high-quality demonstrations of Intellect’s Trade
Finance solution across the trade lifecycle, solution walkthroughs, discovery workshops, use-case discussions, proof-of-concept sessions and technical/business presentations. Tailor demonstrations to the prospect’s requirements and articulate business value, product capabilities and competitive differentiation.
● 4. Solution Design and Proposal Development: Develop customer-specific solution approaches, scope documents, functional solution notes, implementation considerations, effort-estimation inputs, assumptions, exclusions and proposal content. Ensure that proposed solutions are commercially sound, implementable and aligned with the client’s objectives.
● 5. RFP/RFI and Deal Support: Lead or contribute to RFPs, RFIs, questionnaires, bid responses and presentations. Work with Sales and Pre-sales teams to qualify opportunities, articulate value propositions, address objections and support deal progression and closure.
● 6. Product and Engineering Collaboration: Work hands-on with Product, Business Analysts, Engineering, Architecture and QA teams to assess requirements, clarify business rules, prioritize enhancements and guide solution changes. Participate in solution reviews and relevant agile ceremonies; help ensure that requirements and acceptance criteria are clear and that changes address the underlying business need.
● 7. Delivery and Implementation Collaboration: Partner with Delivery, Implementation and Support teams to validate feasibility, integrations, dependencies, customization needs, effort assumptions and delivery risks. Support transition from sales to delivery and help resolve domain or solution issues during implementation where required.
● 8. Market and Customer Feedback Loop: Capture feedback from prospects, clients, demonstrations, implementations and competitive situations. Convert insights into actionable recommendations for product enhancements, roadmap priorities, solution assets and market positioning.
● 9. Commercial and Market Development: Support new sales, cross-sell and upsell across new and existing accounts. Engage senior stakeholders, contribute to pipeline development, and build trusted-advisor relationships
by connecting domain knowledge and technology capabilities to measurable business outcomes.
● 10. Sales Enablement and Knowledge Management: Develop and maintain reusable demo flows, solution notes, product collateral, proposal content, case studies, FAQs and competitive insights. Enable Sales, Pre-sales,
Product and Delivery teams through knowledge sharing and product training.
● 11. Innovation and Industry Awareness: Track market, regulatory and technology developments relevant to Trade Finance, including opportunities to apply AI and automation. Recommend practical enhancements and differentiated capabilities based on client needs and competitive trends.
Experience and Qualifications
● Extensive experience in Trade Finance, with a strong track record in one or more of technology development, technology sales, pre-sales/solution consulting, product consulting, business analysis, process transformation or implementation roles. Domain knowledge alone, without meaningful process or technology solutioning experience, is not sufficient.
● Deep working knowledge of Letters of Credit, Guarantees, Documentary Collections, Open Account, trade loans/financing, amendments, limits, document handling, settlement and reporting, plus relevant SWIFT/ICC and regulatory requirements, with the ability to understand end-to-end business processes, operating models, controls, products and client-specific requirements.
● Demonstrated experience in process analysis, reengineering or transformation, and translating business challenges into functional/technology solutions for banks or financial institutions.
● Proven ability to personally conduct product demonstrations, lead customer discovery and workshops, explain solution design, and respond confidently to business and technology questions from senior stakeholders.
● Experience working directly with Product, Engineering, Architecture and Delivery teams to define requirements, evaluate feasibility, shape enhancements and support implementation.
● Strong commercial acumen and experience contributing to complex sales pursuits, RFP/RFI responses, solution proposals, executive presentations and deal conversion.
● Excellent communication, presentation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to engage CXOs, business leaders, operations teams and technology stakeholders.
● Experience in banking technology, fintech or financial-services transformation is strongly preferred. Familiarity with agile product development and APIs/integrations is an advantage.
● Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or equivalent post-graduate qualification preferred.
Why This Role
You will work at the intersection of banking domain expertise, process transformation and technology—helping financial institutions solve real business problems while shaping the evolution of Intellect’s Trade Finance solutions.
The role offers direct customer exposure and the opportunity to influence solution design, product enhancements, sales outcomes and successful delivery.
