Senior Semantic Software Engineer

As a Senior Semantic Software Engineer, your focus would be to leverage and enhance already existing cutting-edge solutions. Furthermore, you would drive the evolution of the available solutions to meet the changing needs of our ecosystem.

Your Job:

• Knowledge graph modelling, optimization and verification using semantic technologies (RDF, OWL, etc.)
• Definition and optimization of complex SPARQL queries, SHACL validation and SWRL rules
• Definition and optimization of complex SQL queries
• Test concept design for semantic data
• Design and development of end-to-end data pipelines
• Maintenance and improvement of existing data pipelines in terms of DevOps approach
• Design and implementation of flexible backend software architectures including the development of semantic backend applications
• Evaluation of new technologies and frameworks
• Working in interdisciplinary and multi-national team

Your qualification

• Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering or Information Technology or in a related field
• 7+ years experience in the field of semantic technologies (OWL, RDF, SPARQL, SHACL, RML) and relational databases (SQL)
• 5+ years experience in Java software development and webservice design (REST, Spring Boot)
• 5+ years experience in data pipeline automation with Python (pandas, Jupyter notebook)
• 2+ years experience in Linux and Bash
• Experience working with Agentic Coding (LLMs) and Cloud Technologies (e. g. AWS, Azure) are desirable
• Strong expertise in software development processes, Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery, DevOps (Git)
• Excellent communication skills
• Highly motivated team player and ability to work independently in an interdisciplinary and multi-national environment
