IndependenceOS (Roots Health) is Looking for:

The role

This is a builder role, not a manual test-pass role. We run many services: backend-for-frontend APIs, AI

agents, an auth gateway, and integrations with EMRs and payers. They deploy on Kubernetes, with a local

cluster that mirrors our cloud environment. You will design how we prove all of it works and make that proof

automatic on every change, including eval frameworks for our AI features and regression suites for every

release. Roughly 80% hands-on building, 20% setting standards and coaching.

What You Will Do

Design and build our test automation platform from scratch: framework, folder layout, reusable

components, reporting, and CI integration.

Build an evaluation framework for our AI features (AI scribe, voice agent, medical coding): golden

datasets, automated scoring, and LLM-as-judge where it helps, run on every prompt or model change.

Build regression suites that run on every release, and quality gates in CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Argo CD)

that are fast, reliable and trusted.

Own end-to-end coverage of critical workflows on web and mobile: patient search, scheduling, eligibility,

scribe notes, and claims.

Build API and contract tests between frontends, APIs and backend services, so breaking changes fail

before merge.

Test against realistic data in ephemeral or local environments, not mocks and fixtures, and build the data

seeding that makes this practical.

Lead non-functional testing: performance and load, security, role and permission checks, and isolation

between tenants.

Define release criteria and defect triage, and coach developers to own quality in their own code.

What You Bring

7+ years in QA or SDET roles, including at least one framework or QA platform you built from the ground

up and ran in production.

Experience testing ML or LLM features: evaluation datasets, scoring non-deterministic output, and

catching regressions after model or prompt changes.

Strong code in TypeScript and/or Python. You write test code to the same standard as product code.

Hands-on Playwright (or Cypress/Selenium), API testing (pytest, REST clients, Postman), and mobile

automation (Detox, Maestro or Appium).

Experience testing microservices on Docker and Kubernetes, wired into CI pipelines.

Contract testing (Pact or similar), test data management, and environment setup.

A track record of cutting flaky tests and making test results something engineers trust.

Nice to have

Healthcare or HIPAA experience, including PHI-safe test data practices.

Testing HL7, FHIR, X12 or EMR integrations.

Performance tools (k6, Locust) and observability (OpenTelemetry, Grafana).

Eval tooling such as Promptfoo, DeepEval, Ragas or LangSmith, including hallucination and safety

checks.

Fluent use of AI coding tools to speed up test authoring.
