About the role

You will own features from design to production: APIs, data models, the web interface and the cloud infrastructure they run on. You will work closely with customers and teammates, turning varied requirements into clean, reusable, well-tested software.

What you will do

  • Design, build and maintain backend services and APIs in Python
  • Build and improve web interfaces in React and TypeScript
  • Model data and manage relational databases
  • Deploy, monitor and improve services on AWS, Azure or GCP
  • Write automated tests and keep the codebase easy to change
  • Turn repeated custom requests into configurable, reusable features
  • Work with customers and teammates to understand needs and ship solutions
  • Take part in design reviews, incident follow-ups and code reviewsWhat we are looking for
  • 4+ years building and running production backends, ideally in Python (FastAPI, Django or Flask)
  • Experience designing APIs and data models, and explaining the tradeoffs you made
  • Hands-on experience with a major cloud platform (AWS preferred; Azure or GCP is fine), covering compute, storage, databases and IAM, plus familiarity with infrastructure as code
  • Working knowledge of React and TypeScript
  • Strong testing habits and comfort with Git, CI/CD and Docker
  • Clear written and spoken communication
  • Effective use of AI coding tools, with the judgment to review, test and own what you shipNice to have
  • Experience at a product-based company, and startup or lean-team experience preferred
  • Experience with multi-tenant SaaS, background job queues or event-driven systems
  • Experience working directly with customers or in a client-facing engineering role
  • Exposure to applications built on large language models
