Blessing Softtech is hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to design, build, and scale the backend systems powering its AI products, including Fonazo, an AI voice agent platform.

The role involves end-to-end ownership of backend engineering, including architecture, APIs, databases, performance optimisation, third-party integrations, and production reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, high performance backend services using Python and FastAPI.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs with authentication, validation, error handling, and API documentation using Swagger/OpenAPI.
  • Design and optimise PostgreSQL databases, including schemas, relationships, SQL queries, indexing, transactions, and migrations.
  • Implement asynchronous processing, background tasks, caching, and concurrency to improve application performance.
  • Identify performance bottlenecks and ensure backend reliability and scalability.
  • Containerise applications using Docker and support deployment across development, staging, and production environments on AWS.
  • Develop CI/CD workflows, deployment processes, and rollback strategies.
  • Integrate AI APIs and third-party services into backend workflows.
  • Work with telephony platforms such as Plivo or Twilio for voice and call automation.
  • Write clean, modular, maintainable Python code and implement unit and integration testing.
  • Apply secure authentication, authorisation, input validation, and database security practices.
  • Take end-to-end ownership of backend modules, participate in code reviews, mentor developers, and collaborate with frontend, QA, DevOps, and product teams.Required Skills:
  • Strong Python programming skills.
  • Hands-on experience with FastAPI.
  • REST API development and third party integrations.
  • SQL and PostgreSQL database management and optimisation.
  • Docker, AWS, and CI/CD fundamentals.
  • Git, GitHub, and collaborative development workflows.
  • Unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and Postman.
  • Python asynchronous programming and concurrency.
  • Backend security, performance optimisation, and scalable architecture.
  • Experience integrating AI APIs and telephony platforms such as Plivo or Twilio is an advantage.Eligibility:
  • 5+ years of professional backend development experience.
  • Ability to independently own backend development end to end.
  • Strong analytical thinking and technical decision making.
  • Proven experience delivering production ready, secure, and maintainable software.How to Apply
