The Java Developer (Software Engineer) is responsible for developing, enhancing, maintaining, and supporting enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, AWS cloud services, database technologies, and integration frameworks. The role involves working with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, scalable, and high-quality software solutions in an Agile environment while using modern engineering practices and AI-assisted development tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, test, maintain, and support enterprise applications using Java, Spring Boot, REST APIs, and microservices.
- Implement features, enhancements, and bug fixes based on defined business and technical requirements.
- Develop, deploy, monitor, and support cloud-based applications and services on AWS.
- Work with AWS services for compute, storage, databases, serverless processing, workflow orchestration, messaging, and event streaming.
- Develop and support integrations using REST APIs, web services, XML, JSON, XSL/XSLT, Free Marker Templates (FTL), and messaging technologies.
- Write and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures, and support database performance tuning using Oracle or MySQL, or Microsoft SQL Server.
- Write clean, maintainable, secure, and reusable code in accordance with established coding standards and engineering practices.
- Create and maintain unit and integration tests using frameworks such as JUnit and Mockito.
- Participate in code reviews and address feedback related to code quality, security, performance, and maintainability.
- Support CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, release activities, and application configuration across environments.
- Monitor applications, troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement timely fixes for production incidents.
- Collaborate with Product Owners, QA Engineers, DevOps teams, Architects, and business stakeholders in an Agile delivery environment.
- Maintain technical documentation and contribute to knowledge-sharing and continuous-improvement activities.
- Use AI-assisted engineering tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, Claude, Gemini Code Assist, or similar tools to improve productivity, testing, code quality, and documentation.
Key Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
- Practical experience developing and supporting applications on AWS.
- Experience working in an Agile development environment.
- Experience supporting enterprise applications across development, testing, and production environments.
- Strong hands-on experience developing, deploying, monitoring, and supporting applications on AWS.
- Good working experience with relevant AWS services, including EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, IAM, CloudWatch, AWS Glue jobs, Step Functions, SQS, SNS, Kinesis Data Streams, and Kinesis data Firehose.
- Experience supporting cloud-native, serverless, event-driven, and data-processing workloads on AWS.
- Experience with Jenkins or Harness CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with application deployment, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production support in AWS environments.
