Tech Lead (Golang & GCP)

PayRup is looking for a hands-on Tech Lead with strong Golang, GCP and fintech experience to lead backend engineering, strengthen our cloud infrastructure and build secure, scalable financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead backend architecture and development using Golang, microservices and REST APIs.
• Design and manage reliable GCP infrastructure, including deployment, monitoring, performance and cost optimisation.
• Lead integrations with banks, payment partners and service providers across DMT, AEPS, Micro ATM, CMS, BBPS and lending.
• Build reliable transaction processing, reconciliation, refunds and partner integration workflows.
• Implement secure access controls, secrets management, audit logging, backups and disaster recovery.
• Establish code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD pipelines and controlled production releases.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and improve platform availability and transaction success rates.
• Mentor developers, maintain technical documentation and coordinate delivery with product and business teams.

Required Experience & Skills

• 6+ years of software engineering experience, including 2+ years leading technical delivery or engineering teams.
• Strong hands-on expertise in Golang and GCP.
• Prior fintech, payments, banking technology or lending platform experience is required.
• Experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL, Redis, messaging systems and third-party APIs.
• Working knowledge of Docker, Kubernetes/GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud SQL, Pub/Sub and cloud monitoring.
• Understanding of distributed systems, concurrency, API security, idempotency and transaction consistency.
• Proven ability to manage production systems and lead incident resolution.

Good to Have

• Experience with Indian payment ecosystems such as UPI, BBPS, AEPS, DMT or CMS.
• Experience with LOS/LMS platforms, KYC integrations and financial reconciliation.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and fintech security and compliance requirements.
