About The Role

Velloe – an EVOCS Company is looking for a Junior Full Stack Developer to join our engineering team and work across our headless, multi-platform product architecture. Our stack pairs a Drupal 10 headless CMS with a Next.js 14 web portal and React Native mobile apps for iOS and Android, all sharing synchronized state, unified data contracts, and end-to-end AES-256-CBC payload encryption. You'll work across mobile, web, and backend layers, contributing to features that span our entire platform rather than sitting in a single silo.

This role suits someone with 3–4 years of hands-on development experience who is comfortable moving between a React Native codebase, a Next.js frontend, and a PHP/Drupal backend, and who wants to keep building breadth across a modern, security-conscious stack.

What You'll Work With

Our architecture is headless and decoupled: Drupal 10 serves content and business logic through REST and GraphQL APIs, consumed by a Next.js 14 web portal and React Native 0.78 mobile apps. All three layers share unified data contracts and encrypt API payloads end-to-end with AES-256-CBC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain features across our React Native (iOS & Android), Next.js web, and Drupal backend codebases, depending on sprint needs.
  • Implement UI screens and components using React Native Paper, Reanimated, and React Navigation on mobile, and React with Tailwind CSS on web.
  • Integrate with REST and GraphQL APIs exposed by our Drupal 10 backend, including handling CSRF token injection, authenticated requests, and AES-256-CBC encrypted payloads.
  • Manage application state using Redux Toolkit and RTK Query, including offline persistence via redux-persist and AsyncStorage on mobile.
  • Build and validate forms using React Hook Form and Yup on the web portal.
  • Implement and troubleshoot push notifications, deep linking, and local/remote notification handling using Firebase Cloud Messaging and Notifee.
  • Contribute to backend features in Drupal 10 (PHP 8.2), including custom REST endpoints, GraphQL schema/resolvers, and content model changes.
  • Work with MySQL 8.0 for data modeling, queries, and performance tuning as needed.
  • Integrate third-party services such as Razorpay (payments), FingerprintJS (device fraud prevention), Google Analytics 4, Firebase Crashlytics, and Vimeo/YouTube video embeds.
  • Support release processes: generate Android `.aab`/`.apk` builds via Gradle and iOS `.ipa` builds via Xcode Archive, and assist with manual submissions to Google Play Console and TestFlight/App Store.
  • Write clean, typed code in TypeScript across mobile and web, following our ESLint/Prettier standards and Conventional Commits via Husky and Commitizen.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and cross-functional discussions with design, QA, and product.
  • Debug and resolve issues across the stack, using tools like Firebase Crashlytics and network/API debugging to trace problems from client to backend.

Required Skills & Experience

  • 3–4 years of professional software development experience, with demonstrated work across both frontend and backend, or frontend and mobile.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript, with practical experience writing typed, interface-driven code.
  • Hands-on experience with React (web) and ideally React Native for mobile app development.
  • Working knowledge of Redux or Redux Toolkit for state management, including async data fetching patterns (RTK Query or similar).
  • Experience consuming REST APIs; exposure to GraphQL is a plus.
  • Familiarity with a server-side language such as PHP, and comfort working with a CMS or backend framework (Drupal experience is a strong plus, but not required if you're comfortable picking it up).
  • Basic to intermediate SQL and relational database experience (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar).
  • Understanding of Git workflows, including feature branching, pull requests, and code review practices.
  • Familiarity with authentication/security concepts such as token-based auth, CSRF protection, or payload encryption (AES-256 or similar) is a plus.
  • Ability to work across the mobile, web, and backend layers of a project, and willingness to learn unfamiliar parts of the stack.
  • Good communication skills and comfort collaborating in a cross-functional agile team.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Next.js (App Router) and Tailwind CSS.
  • Experience with Drupal or another headless/decoupled CMS.
  • Exposure to Firebase services (FCM, Analytics, Crashlytics).
  • Experience integrating payment gateways such as Razorpay, Stripe, or similar.
  • Familiarity with mobile release processes (Gradle builds, Xcode Archive, Play Console/App Store submissions).
  • Experience with mapping libraries (Leaflet, Google Maps) or media/video integrations (React Player, PDF.js, Vimeo/YouTube APIs).
  • Exposure to AWS S3 or other cloud object storage for media/asset handling.

Tools & Practices You'll Use

Bitbucket for version control, Husky pre-commit hooks with Commitizen for Conventional Commits, ESLint and Prettier for code quality, and Composer for backend dependency management.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Portfolio or prior project experience demonstrating full-stack or cross-platform development work.
