Senior Software Engineer - Python

Responsibilities

Build and own backend services in Python — APIs, data models and business logic — from requirements to production support.

Develop, maintain and enhance backend services using Python and Django / FastAPI or a similar framework.

Design, build and integrate RESTful APIs with a contract-first, client-server approach.

Design, manage and optimise PostgreSQL databases for performance, reliability and data integrity.

Apply OOP and clean-code principles to write maintainable, scalable, well-structured code.

Use AI-assisted coding tools (Claude Code) and prompt engineering to improve speed and quality.

Own tasks across the full lifecycle — analysis, implementation, testing, deployment and support.

Continuously adapt to new tools, technologies and development practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

Strong Python with hands-on experience in Django / DRF, FastAPI, or a similar framework. Solid understanding of OOP and class-based design.

Good knowledge of HTTP, REST APIs and client-server architecture.

Hands-on SQL / PostgreSQL — schema design, data integrity and query optimisation.

Familiarity with AI-assisted coding tools (preferably Claude Code) and prompt engineering.

Strong analytical, problem-solving and debugging skills.

Ability to work independently and own deliverables with minimal supervision.

Clear communication and a collaborative working style.

Adapts quickly to new tools and technologies without being told to.

Nice-to-Have Skills

Async Python, Pydantic, SQLAlchemy, type hints (mypy).

React / TypeScript integration ability.

Docker, CI/CD (GitHub Actions), AWS.

Experience in logistics or domain-driven systems.

Knowledge of LLMs / Generative AI.
