About The Role
We are seeking a passionate and technically proficient individual to join our team as a Regional Product Development Specialist. This role is pivotal in driving innovation and product excellence within the Asia and Africa regions, focusing on end-to-end product lifecycle management—from initial idea conception to in-market monitoring. The successful candidate will leverage consumer insights and sensory data to develop compelling propositions that resonate with Indian consumers and regional markets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of consumer research, product development, and cross-functional collaboration, ensuring the delivery of products that deliver meaningful consumer value and competitive advantage.
Qualifications
- Educational Background: M.Sc or M.Tech from top universities with 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, or PhD in Science or Engineering with 1-2 years of experience.
- Consumer Research Expertise: Deep understanding of consumer testing methodologies, insights derivation, claims development, and product innovation processes.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in consumer and product research, sensory analysis, and technical qualification processes.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities in English, with the capacity to connect across diverse cultural and organizational boundaries.
- Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated leadership and influencing capabilities, with the ability to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
- Business Acumen: Solid understanding of market dynamics, consumer needs, and strategic business considerations.
- Learning Agility: Ability to adapt quickly, prioritize tasks effectively, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to undertake domestic and international travel as required.
Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and analyze consumer insights and claims testing to inform product development strategies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including marketing, sales, analytics, manufacturing, and quality assurance to develop innovative products aligned with consumer needs.
- Partner with technologists and researchers to develop prototypes, conduct testing, and refine product concepts.
- Capture and synthesize key insights from research projects, and communicate findings and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
- Lead technical teams in the qualification of new products and packaging, ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
- Monitor market performance post-launch to gather feedback and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Stay updated on regional consumer trends, competitive landscape, and technological advancements relevant to product innovation.
