Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager (Scrum Master) to join our Network Automation team. The ideal candidate will have 6–8 years of industry experience in managing and delivering projects within an Agile environment, preferably involving network automation and web application development.
The candidate will be responsible for end-to-end project delivery, sprint planning, team coordination, risk management, stakeholder communication, and ensuring adherence to Scrum principles. The role requires strong leadership, facilitation, problem-solving, and project management skills, along with an understanding of software development and networking technologies.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Project Delivery: Manage the complete project lifecycle for network automation and software development initiatives, ensuring delivery within the agreed scope, timelines, and project constraints.
- Project Planning and Scheduling: Develop and maintain project plans, define activity sequences, estimate delivery timelines, allocate resources, and track milestones.
- Risk and Issue Management: Identify, assess, monitor, and mitigate project risks, assumptions, issues, and dependencies. Ensure clear ownership and timely resolution or escalation.
- Agile and Scrum Practices: Lead the development team as a Scrum Master, ensuring adherence to Scrum principles, practices, and processes.
- Scrum Ceremonies: Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and other Agile meetings.
- Impediment Removal: Identify and resolve obstacles affecting team productivity, minimize disruptions, manage work in progress (WIP), and support continuous improvement.
- Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective communication and collaboration with customers, program managers, development teams, functional managers, suppliers, and third-party stakeholders.
- Team Leadership and Coaching: Coach and support team members, promote collaboration, resolve conflicts, and encourage accountability and continuous improvement.
- Progress Tracking and Reporting: Monitor project progress, sprint outcomes, burndown charts, delivery metrics, and milestones. Provide regular status updates to program managers and key stakeholders.
- Release Coordination: Coordinate project releases and dependencies across teams to ensure smooth and timely delivery.
- Performance Feedback: Provide constructive feedback to team members and coordinate with functional managers and module leads to address performance and delivery concerns.
- Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain proactive relationships with customers and external partners, ensuring expectations are aligned and concerns are addressed promptly.
- Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve delivery efficiency, team productivity, project governance, and overall execution.
Required Skills And Qualifications
- 6–8 years of relevant industry experience in project management, Agile delivery, or Scrum Master roles.
- Proven experience managing and delivering projects in an Agile environment.
- Hands-on experience as a Scrum Master; Scrum Master certification is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Lean, and Kanban methodologies.
- Experience managing network automation projects and/or web application development projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), including requirements analysis, system design, development, testing, and release management.
- Experience with project management and collaboration tools such as JIRA, Rally, Confluence, and MS Project.
- Strong proficiency in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, facilitation, coaching, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, make sound decisions, and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
- Customer-focused approach with a strong commitment to project outcomes and continuous improvement.
- Exposure to networking, ISP, or telecommunications technologies.
Good to Have
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and principles.
- Familiarity with software testing, quality assurance, and release management processes.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of networking concepts, including routing and switching.
- CCNA certification or equivalent knowledge in Routing & Switching or Service Provider technologies.
- Understanding of network automation concepts and tools.
- Experience working with cross-functional software engineering and network engineering teams.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Scrum Master certification, such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM), is an added advantage.
