We’re Hiring: Lead Data & AI Engineer

📍 Location: Mangalore, Karnataka

💼 Experience: 5+ years in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering

Petrocon Engineers & Consultants is looking for an experienced Lead Data & AI Engineer to strengthen our data and AI capabilities and help build reliable, governed, and AI-ready data foundations.

This role is ideal for a hands-on professional with strong Snowflake expertise and experience developing production-ready data solutions for analytics and AI applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and evolve data platforms on Snowflake, including modelling, transformations, business layers, performance, and cost optimisation.
• Develop and manage batch and real-time data pipelines for analytics and AI use cases.
• Build semantic data models supporting RAG, AI agents, and analytics.
• Leverage Snowflake Cortex, including LLM functions, AI SQL, and vector search.
• Establish strong data quality, governance, lineage, documentation, security, and access management practices.
• Develop data-driven use cases including forecasting, scoring, fraud detection, and optimisation.
• Support deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement of production models through MLOps practices.

What We’re Looking For

✓ 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering

✓ Strong and current Snowflake expertise, with production implementation experience

✓ Advanced knowledge of SQL and Python

✓ Experience with dbt, Airflow or equivalent orchestration tools, and CI/CD

✓ Knowledge of data quality, governance, security, lineage, and MLOps

✓ Experience preparing data for Generative AI, RAG, and AI agents

✓ Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data, Statistics, or a related field
