HapiVet AI is building an AI-native platform for veterinary clinics in the US. We're a small team that ships fast, and we're looking for an engineer who can turn a short problem statement into working, production-ready software.

What you'll do

  • Take a one-paragraph problem or requirement and ship it end to end, usually within a week: backend, frontend, data model, tests, and deploy. Senior engineers will back you up when you need it.
  • Use AI coding agents like Claude Code every day as your main way of building, and know when to trust their output and when to dig in yourself.
  • Own features in production. Monitor them, fix what breaks, and make them better.
  • Make sensible product calls when the spec is thin, and ask the right questions when it matters.
  • Keep the codebase clean so the next feature (and the next agent) has an easy time.

Who you are

  • 1–3 years building and shipping software, ideally at a successful Indian startup where your code reached real customers.
  • Deep fundamentals in your stack. You understand how things work under the hood, not just how to call the library. Think data modeling, SQL, APIs, auth, performance, and debugging.
  • Relatively stack agnostic. You go deep in your main stack but can pick up a new language, framework, or database quickly when the problem calls for it. Today we use backends like Python, .NET, and Node, with React and TypeScript on the frontend.
  • AI-native. You already build with coding agents daily and can show how they make you faster without making the code worse.
  • Reliable. When you say it'll be done in a week, it's done in a week.
  • Clear communicator in English.
