Sr. Product Engineer | Team Lead

FlatOut Solutions
India

Role OverviewAs a Product Engineering Team Lead, you are the single point of accountability for a client project. This is a leadership role, not an individual contributor role.

We are looking for a product manager, an architect, and a QA in one person. You define what gets built, decide how it gets built, guarantee the quality of what ships, and lead the engineers who build it. On engagements where a Product Owner is staffed alongside you, product definition and UX shift to them and your weight moves to architecture, delivery, and engineering quality. On the rest, all of it is yours.

We run several engagement models: monthly retainer, time and materials, fixed price with capped hours, and fixed price. Across all of them the client directs prioritization on an ongoing basis, and requirements get worked out through iteration rather than settled up front. You are the person who makes that sustainable.

  • Embed security best practices across development, infrastructure, and operations, and proactively monitor systems for risksQuality ownership
  • Define and enforce the testing and QA strategy across the team, and set the bar the engineers verify their own work against
  • Take responsibility for what ships. Where the engagement puts infrastructure in our hands, that includes production stability and bug resolution; where the client runs their own, it is the quality of what we hand over
  • Create reusable components, documentation, and processes that make the team work efficientlyClient leadership
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact, leading technical conversations and explaining trade-offs in plain language
  • Manage expectations honestly and turn client feedback into product decisionsRequirements
