Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Release Manager to lead the planning, governance, coordination, and execution of technology releases across a complex mortgage servicing and lending ecosystem. This individual will serve as the central point of orchestration between Technology, Product, Infrastructure, Security, Operations, Vendors, and Business stakeholders to ensure releases are delivered safely, efficiently, and with minimal business risk.
The ideal candidate is a confident communicator, strategic thinker, and highly organized leader who can balance technical understanding with business priorities. They must be comfortable engaging with executive leadership, facilitating enterprise-level discussions, influencing decisions across multiple organizations, and communicating complex topics in a clear and concise manner.
This role is responsible for driving release excellence, deployment governance, operational readiness, dependency management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement practices while supporting an Agile and DevOps delivery model.
Key Responsibilities
Enterprise Release Governance
- Lead end-to-end release planning, scheduling, coordination, and execution across multiple technology portfolios.
- Establish and enforce release management standards, policies, procedures, and controls.
- Govern release calendars and enterprise deployment schedules to minimize production risk and business disruption.
- Drive release readiness reviews and go/no-go decision processes.
- Ensure alignment between Release Management, Change Management, Incident Management, Problem Management, and Service Delivery processes.Mortgage Technology Delivery
- Coordinate releases supporting mortgage origination, servicing, customer portals, mobile applications, integrations, regulatory platforms, and enterprise infrastructure.
- Assess release impacts across business services, applications, APIs, data flows, and dependent systems.
- Partner with product, engineering, architecture, and operations teams to ensure smooth implementation of strategic initiatives.Risk & Operational Readiness
- Identify release risks, dependencies, constraints, and mitigation strategies.
- Validate deployment readiness including:
- Testing completion
- Rollback plans
- Support readiness
- Monitoring capabilities
- Disaster recovery considerations
- Vendor dependencies
- Facilitate post-release reviews and drive lessons learned activities.CMDB & Application Dependency Management
- Leverage CMDB data, application mapping, and service ownership models to improve release impact analysis.
- Ensure release decisions are supported by accurate configuration and dependency information.
- Partner with engineering teams to enhance visibility of application-to-application dependencies.
- Utilize service mapping and configuration management practices to reduce release-related risk.Executive Communication & Leadership
- Present release strategy, risks, readiness, and outcomes to executive leadership.
- Lead cross-functional discussions involving Directors, Vice Presidents, SVPs, CIOs, and business executives.
- Translate complex technical topics into business-focused communications.
- Drive accountability across technology and business teams while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.Continuous Improvement
- Develop metrics and executive reporting on release performance.
- Analyze trends related to release success, deployment quality, incidents, and failed changes.
- Drive automation opportunities within release pipelines and release governance workflows.
- Promote best practices aligned with ITIL, Agile, DevOps, and Site Reliability Engineering principles.Required Qualifications
Experience
- 10+ years of experience in Technology Delivery, Release Management, Change Management, Program Management, or IT Service Management.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise technology environments.
- Experience within mortgage servicing, mortgage originations, financial services, banking, or highly regulated industries.
- Proven success managing complex, multi-team releases with executive visibility.
- Experience working with both internal delivery teams and third-party vendors.Leadership Attributes
