About RBM Software
RBM Software is a software engineering and technology consulting company serving global clients, with a strong focus on retail and e-commerce. Our work spans digital commerce, data platforms, search, cloud, and enterprise applications. We are expanding our AI capabilities to build useful products, reusable solutions, and measurable business value for our clients.
About the Role
We are looking for an AI strategy and product leader who can identify valuable business problems, define a focused roadmap, and work with engineering teams to deliver solutions that customers adopt. You will shape RBM's AI priorities, own product discovery and prioritization, and help turn proven capabilities into repeatable commercial offerings.
The role combines strategic thinking, product ownership, technical judgment, and client engagement. You will work closely with senior leadership, engineering, delivery, and sales teams across product development, client solutions, and internal AI adoption.
Our areas of focus include catalog intelligence, search and discovery, merchandising automation, and AI-enabled business workflows. This includes opportunities within Arvyn, our real-time catalog intelligence platform for enterprise retailers.
Key Responsibilities
- Define AI strategy and priorities: Identify opportunities aligned with RBM's strengths and customer needs. Build an actionable roadmap with clear business cases, resource requirements, and success measures.
- Lead customer discovery and product management: Understand user workflows, validate demand, define requirements and acceptance criteria, and prioritize what to build. Evaluate whether AI or conventional software is the better solution.
- Own outcomes through delivery: Partner with architects and engineers to take selected initiatives from discovery and experimentation through production, adoption, and improvement. Evaluate feasibility, quality, reliability, latency, and operating costs.
- Develop repeatable offerings: Turn successful solutions into reusable products, accelerators, and implementation approaches. Work with sales on demos, proposals, scope, pricing assumptions, and customer value.
- Guide practical AI adoption: Identify useful applications of generative AI, agents, search, and automation across client solutions and internal workflows. Establish lightweight standards for evaluation, security, monitoring, and responsible use.
- Build capability: Mentor teams, identify skills and hiring needs, and establish product and delivery practices that help RBM scale successful solutions.
Experience & Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in technology, product development, enterprise software, or consulting, including substantial recent experience delivering AI-enabled products or solutions.
- Demonstrated ownership of solutions used in production, with evidence of customer adoption and measurable business results. You should be able to explain your personal contribution, product decisions, technical tradeoffs, and lessons learned.
- Strong product management skills across customer discovery, prioritization, roadmap development, requirements, experimentation, launch, and lifecycle management.
- Experience working directly with customers and senior stakeholders to translate business problems into feasible solutions and communicate value clearly.
- Sufficient technical depth to assess architecture, challenge assumptions, and make sound decisions with engineering teams. This is a strategy and product leadership role; personal coding is not a core requirement.
- Practical understanding of LLMs, retrieval-augmented generation, AI agents, search, evaluation, and automation, supported by relevant delivery experience.
- Understanding of cloud platforms, APIs, enterprise integrations, and data systems, including the implications for scalability, security, reliability, and cost.
- Ability to lead across engineering, architecture, delivery, and sales while working effectively with ambiguity and limited resources.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, business, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
Preferred Experience
- Retail, e-commerce, B2B SaaS, or enterprise technology products.
- Taking a product or solution from an initial concept to production and expanding adoption across customers or teams.
- Packaging reusable software capabilities into commercially viable offerings and supporting enterprise presales.
What Success Looks Like
In your first six months, you will be expected to establish a focused AI roadmap grounded in validated customer needs; lead selected initiatives into live customer pilots or production; help package proven capabilities into repeatable offerings; and demonstrate measurable customer or internal benefits. Outcomes will be agreed with Leadership based on the team and resources available.
Performance will be assessed through adoption, delivery quality, demonstrated business value, reuse across implementations, and contribution to commercial opportunities.
Why Join RBM?
You will have the opportunity to shape RBM's AI direction, work closely with senior leadership and experienced engineering teams, and solve practical problems for global retail and commerce businesses. This role offers ownership from identifying the opportunity through delivering the solution and proving its value.
