Dashboard and Reporting Analyst
Job Title: DAnR Python Dashboard Developer
Experience: 2 to 5 years of relevant development experience
About the Job:
We are looking for a Python Dashboard Developer within DAnR to own custom web-based monitoring dashboards for Tonik's lending scorecards. You will build flexible analytical applications with an open-source Python stack and deploy them on Tonik's internal web server in partnership with IT.
The priority is to give Risk, DS and business teams timely visibility into scorecard performance, data coverage and operational issues. Dash and Plotly with enterprise authentication are a preferred approach. You will use reusable components and, where appropriate, AI-assisted development to accelerate delivery while maintaining reviewed code and verified calculations.
Job Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain interactive Python web dashboards using Dash and Plotly, or an agreed comparable open-source framework. Deliver clear navigation, filters, drilldowns and export capabilities for internal users.
- Develop a reusable monitoring framework so new or refreshed scorecards can be onboarded quickly. Target operational dashboards within one week of model go-live, with outcome-based measures becoming available as repayment cohorts mature.
- Implement monitoring views for underwriting, behavioral and offer scores, collections, payroll-backed lending and other assigned models. Support component and stacked-score views, product segments and model-version comparisons.
- Work with DS and Risk to define and implement Gini, KS, PSI, CSI, calibration, deciles, approval rates and bad rates. Capture agreed cohort, numerator, denominator and outcome-maturity rules rather than hard-coding ambiguous definitions.
- Separate input and score monitoring available at launch from performance metrics that require matured outcomes. Clearly label reporting windows, sample sizes, data freshness and insufficient-data conditions.
- Connect to Big Query and approved data sources using efficient SQL and reusable data-access layers. Use pre-aggregation, caching and controlled refreshes to keep dashboards responsive and query costs manageable.
- Build visibility into partner coverage, missingness, API failures and score-range changes. Implement agreed threshold alerts and exception views with enough detail for teams to investigate.
- Deploy and maintain dashboards on the internal web server with IT, including service configuration, dependencies, logging and health checks. Integrate enterprise authentication and appropriate access controls for sensitive lending data.
- Reconcile dashboard results to independently checked SQL or DS calculations. Use tests, code review and user acceptance testing to prevent misleading metrics, filter behaviour or exports.
- Use approved AI coding tools where useful; review generated code and validate logic before release. Maintain version control, technical documentation and a prioritized backlog with users.
- Migrate and retire legacy BI (Power BI) dashboards as the Python stack matures, so refresh cycles are no longer constrained by the old setup.
Required Experience and Qualifications:
- 2 to 5 years of relevant Python dashboard, analytical application or web development experience, with examples of applications deployed for business users.
- A bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data analytics or a related discipline, or equivalent practical development experience.
- Strong Python and SQL skills, including pandas and experience building interactive applications with Dash and Plotly or a comparable Python web framework.
- Working knowledge of HTML, CSS, responsive layouts, callback or application state management, APIs and debugging web applications.
- Experience connecting dashboards to databases, validating calculated metrics, managing performance and maintaining production applications.
- Practical knowledge of Git, testing, Linux-based deployment, authentication and authorization. Ability to work with IT on secure internal hosting.
- Ability to clarify business metric definitions, present data accurately and collaborate with analysts, Data Scientists and Risk users.
Preferred Experience and Qualifications:
- Prior lending or credit risk scorecard monitoring experience, including Gini, KS, PSI, CSI, vintage analysis, deciles and matured bad-rate reporting.
- Experience with GCP and Big Query, query optimization, caching, scheduled data refreshes and monitoring multiple model versions.
- Experience with enterprise SSO, role-based access, Docker, reverse proxies or deployment through CI/CD.
- Experience using AI-assisted development productively while retaining code review, tests, data protection and calculation validation.
What Success Looks Like:
- A reusable dashboard framework makes monitoring available quickly after go-live and supports frequent scorecard refreshes.
- Metrics reconcile to agreed definitions, with clear maturity, freshness and sample-size information.
- Dashboards remain responsive, secure and useful for identifying degradation and directing investigation.
