About the Role

We are looking for a hands-on AI Voice Agent – Technical Lead with practical experience in building, deploying, and supporting AI voice agents in production environments. This is a technical ownership role and not a purely managerial position. The ideal candidate will be actively involved in software development, architecture, technical decision-making, code reviews, production troubleshooting, and mentoring a team of junior developers.

You will work closely with Product, DevOps, and Engineering teams to build scalable, reliable, and high-performing Voice AI solutions.

Key Responsibilities

AI Voice Agent Development

• Build, integrate, and maintain production-grade AI voice agents and voicebots.
• Work with LLMs, Speech-to-Text (STT), Text-to-Speech (TTS), conversational AI, and AI agent workflows.
• Integrate telephony platforms and third-party AI services.
• Improve voice-agent latency, reliability, conversation quality, and overall performance.Architecture and Technical Ownership
• Design end-to-end architecture for AI voice applications and supporting services.
• Make technical decisions across frameworks, APIs, databases, AI models, integrations, and infrastructure.
• Evaluate technologies based on performance, scalability, reliability, maintainability, and cost.
• Identify technical risks and define effective solutions.
• Research emerging AI technologies and assess their practical application within the product.Full-Stack Engineering
• Develop backend services using Python, Node.js, TypeScript, or equivalent technologies.
• Work with frontend technologies such as React, Next.js, Angular, or equivalent frameworks.
• Build APIs, integrations, real-time communication systems, and database-driven applications.
• Be comfortable working across the product stack when required.Deployment and Production
• Work with CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
• Understand and operate within cloud-based production environments.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployments, infrastructure, monitoring, and production issues.
• Work with Docker and core cloud/infrastructure concepts.
• Investigate and resolve production issues and coordinate cross-functional technical resolution.Technical Team Leadership
• Lead, mentor, and support junior developers.
• Break down technical requirements into clear implementation tasks.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain engineering standards.
• Guide developers on architecture, implementation, and technical decisions.
• Identify technical blockers and support the team in resolving them efficiently.
• Coordinate effectively with Product, DevOps, and Engineering teams.

Required Skills and Experience

• 3–4+ years of professional software development experience.
• Proven hands-on experience building AI Voice Agents / Voicebots.
• Experience taking an AI/Voice AI application into production and supporting it post-deployment.
• Strong practical understanding of LLMs and Generative AI.
• Strong backend development skills with working knowledge of frontend development.
• Experience with application architecture and system design.
• Understanding of CI/CD and deployment pipelines.
• Experience working with DevOps or infrastructure teams.
• Strong technical decision-making, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead and mentor junior developers.
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Voice AI Experience

The ideal candidate should have experience with:

• Speech-to-Text (STT) and Text-to-Speech (TTS)
• LLM-based conversational systems
• Voice agent orchestration
• Real-time audio and streaming
• WebSockets
• Telephony APIs
• Call handling and interruptions
• Conversation context management
• AI tool/function calling

Good to Have

• Experience with Twilio, Exotel, Plivo, Vonage, LiveKit, SIP, or WebRTC.
• Experience with RAG and vector databases.
• Familiarity with AI agent frameworks such as LangChain or LangGraph.
• Experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Working knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience building high-volume or concurrent voice applications.
• Experience integrating CRM and other third-party business systems.

AI-First Development

We are looking for someone who is comfortable incorporating modern AI-assisted development tools and LLMs into their engineering workflow for development, prototyping, debugging, code generation, code review, and technical exploration.

The candidate should also understand when AI-generated solutions require engineering validation, testing, security review, and production-level quality checks.
