Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Software Engineer at LocalButcher. The Software Engineer will design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs that power the LocalButcher platform. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new features, optimizing system performance, ensuring reliability and security, and collaborating with product, design, and operations teams. The role also involves troubleshooting technical issues, writing clean and testable code, participating in code reviews, and contributing to technical documentation. The Software Engineer will help improve system scalability as the business grows and support integration with mobile and web applications.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, Go, or similar).
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including building and maintaining APIs, working with databases, and integrating services.
- Solid understanding and practical use of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) concepts in production environments.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development workflows.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms, containerization, or deployment pipelines is beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, communicate clearly, and collaborate across cross-functional teams.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
