Associate Manager – Novel Assets Portfolio & Strategy

Location: Ahmedabad

Reporting To: Portfolio Lead – Novel Assets

Experience: 2–4 years

Role Purpose

Zydus is seeking an analytical, proactive and solution-oriented professional to support the evaluation and management of its growing portfolio of Novel Biological Entities (NBEs), biologics, vaccines and emerging technologies.

The role will support asset prioritisation, competitive intelligence, portfolio reviews and cross-functional project governance—enabling faster decision-making and effective allocation of R&D resources.

This position requires a strong problem solver who can structure complex issues, work effectively with incomplete information and drive outcomes in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and prioritise internal and external innovation assets based on scientific, clinical, commercial and strategic considerations.
  • Conduct competitive intelligence, pipeline landscaping and benchmarking of assets and technology platforms.
  • Support portfolio reviews and develop evidence-based recommendations for management decision-making.
  • Prepare strategic assessments and business cases for new assets, technologies and licensing opportunities.
  • Coordinate with R&D, Clinical, Regulatory, Medical, IP, Commercial and Business Development teams to advance portfolio initiatives.
  • Track project milestones, risks, dependencies, decisions and governance actions.
  • Develop concise management presentations, strategic briefs and decision-support materials.Candidate Profile
  • MBA, M.Pharm, PharmD, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or a related qualification.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in portfolio strategy, competitive intelligence, new product planning, business development, corporate strategy, innovation management or healthcare/life-sciences consulting.
  • Exposure to biologics, vaccines, specialty pharmaceuticals or novel therapeutic technologies would be preferred.
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving and presentation skills.
  • Ability to interpret complex scientific and business information and translate it into actionable recommendations.
  • Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration capabilities.Fit for the Zydus Environment
