Broker Dealer Services Engineering (BDSE) organization is responsible for delivery, engineering and support functions of broker-dealer systems which are critically important to all of Schwab’s lines of business. We are seeking results-oriented professionals in the Software-AI Development & Engineering role to join us in Schwab India GCC during a rapid growth phase, contributing directly to enterprise-scale systems and modernization initiatives.

This role is focused on building scalable, high-quality client-facing systems. As a Software Engineer, you will combine deep engineering expertise with AI-driven development practices to design, build, and modernize enterprise platforms.

You will operate in a high-ownership environment where engineers are accountable for outcomes, not just delivery, applying AI automation, agent-based workflows, and spec-driven engineering to accelerate innovation and improve quality. This is a unique opportunity to shape next-generation AI-enabled software engineering practices within Schwab’s India GCC, driving both productivity and engineering excellence

What you have

Required Qualifications

4+ years of software engineering experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • Strong foundation in computer science fundamentals including algorithms, data structures, OOP, design patterns, system design, databases, networking, concurrency, testing, CI/CD, and secure coding principles
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI coding tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar)
  • Proficiency in Java or .Net
  • Ability to critically review AI-generated code for bugs, security issues, and code quality
  • Working knowledge of agentic workflows, agent development, and spec-driven development, including translating low-level design artifacts into structured specifications that guide AI-assisted implementation
  • Proficiency in prompt engineering and custom instruction authoring, with the ability to define and champion team-level standards for effective AI-assisted development

Preferred Qualifications-

  • Cloud platform experience (GCP, AWS, Azure).
  • Experience modernizing legacy platforms using automation and AI acceleration.
  • Ability to drive technical innovation and contribute to engineering standards and strategy.
  • Analytical Thinking – Structured, logical problem-solving approach.
  • Software Design & Development – Build scalable, reliable, high-quality systems.
  • AI-Enabled Engineering – Accelerate delivery using AI tools with strong ownership and accountability.
  • Continuous Improvement – Advance AI practices and engineering excellence across teams.
