Risk Management (ETRM). We build scalable platforms supporting trading, analytics, risk management, integrations, and

transaction processing.

Role Overview

We are looking for a Lead Python Developer / Senior Backend Technical Lead to lead the backend architecture and development

of a next-generation ETRM platform.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role focused on Python, Django/FastAPI, PostgreSQL, transaction processing,

distributed systems, messaging, security, cloud, and system architecture. The candidate will own technical design and

implementation, guide developers, and ensure the platform is scalable, secure, reliable, and transactionally accurate.

Experience in banking, fintech, payments, trading, brokerage, treasury, or other financial transaction systems is strongly

preferred. Direct ETRM/Treasury experience is advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Technical Leadership

• Own backend architecture, system design, technical standards, and implementation strategy; design scalable, modular, maintainable, and secure services; lead technical planning, code reviews, estimation, mentoring, and delivery, and collaborate with Product, Business, QA, DevOps, and Frontend teams.

Python Backend Development

• Develop production-grade backend services using Python, Django and/or FastAPI; build REST APIs, business workflows, state-based processing, external integrations, and high-volume transaction services; work with asynchronous/background processing using Celery and messaging technologies.

Transaction Processing & Data Integrity

• Design reliable financial workflows with strong transaction integrity, consistency, concurrency control, idempotency, locking, transaction isolation, retry/recovery handling, and rollback mechanisms; implement controlled workflow/state management, auditability, traceability, and reconciliation between internal and external systems.

Event-Driven & Distributed Systems

• Design event-driven and distributed architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, Celery, or similar technologies;

implement reliable asynchronous processing, retries, failure handling, recovery, and appropriate patterns for scalability and resilience.

Database & Data Architecture

• Design and optimize PostgreSQL schemas, data models, SQL queries, indexes, transactions, and database

performance; work with Redis for caching/distributed processing and MongoDB/NoSQL where appropriate.

Security & Financial Controls

• Implement secure backend and API solutions covering authentication, authorization, RBAC, OAuth2/OIDC, JWT, MFA, access control, least privilege, encryption, TLS, secrets management, audit logging, and secure coding; protect sensitive financial data and enforce critical transaction authorization and business rules server-side; follow OWASP principles and support appropriate security monitoring and controls.

Cloud & DevOps

• Deploy and support services on Microsoft Azure using Docker, CI/CD, and Git; establish effective logging, monitoring, health checks, diagnostics, deployment practices, and production troubleshooting.

Preferred Skills & Experience

• Banking, Fintech, Payments, Trading, Brokerage, Treasury, or Financial Technology experience.
• Experience developing transaction-heavy, financially critical, or regulated applications.
• Experience with financial reconciliation, settlements, balances, payments, positions, or transaction lifecycles.
• Experience with ETRM or Treasury Management Systems.
• Experience with banking APIs, payment systems, financial integrations, trading platforms, or market-data systems.
• Experience with banking-grade security, compliance, audit, and access-control requirements.
• Knowledge of PCI DSS, ISO 27001, SOC 2, or similar security frameworks.
• Experience with MongoDB, Redis, Kubernetes, and multi-tenant SaaS architecture.
• Familiarity with React, Angular, TypeScript, or Java.
• Exposure to Oracle is an advantage but not mandatory.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a hands-on Python backend engineer with strong technical leadership and architectural capability, able to work across application design, development, databases, messaging, security, cloud, and production support.

• We particularly value candidates who understand that financial systems require correctness, transaction integrity, security, concurrency, auditability, reconciliation, reliability, and performance. Financial-system roles increasingly emphasize these areas alongside Python, PostgreSQL, messaging, API security, and cloud engineering.
• Direct ETRM/Treasury experience is preferred but not mandatory; relevant banking, fintech, payments, trading, brokerage, or other transaction-heavy financial experience is strongly preferred
