Senior Pricing Analyst - Climate Risk & Parametric Insurance

Role Description The Senior Pricing Analyst - Climate Risk & Parametric Insurance is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. This role is responsible for developing and maintaining pricing models for climate-related and parametric insurance products, including catastrophe, weather, and other index-based covers. The analyst will collect and analyse climate, exposure, and loss data, perform scenario and sensitivity analyses, and translate findings into actionable pricing recommendations for underwriting and sales teams. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with finance and reinsurance teams on portfolio performance, preparing pricing reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients, and supporting the design of new parametric structures tailored to diverse geographies and industries. The role also involves monitoring market trends, regulatory developments, and emerging climate risk methodologies to continuously improve pricing frameworks and support strategic business growth.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical skills and data analysis capabilities, including experience with quantitative modeling, statistical tools, and large data sets.
• Clear and effective communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and collaborate across teams.
• Solid understanding of finance, insurance, or reinsurance concepts, ideally with exposure to climate risk, catastrophe modeling, or parametric products.
• Sales-oriented mindset with the ability to support commercial negotiations, articulate value propositions, and align pricing strategies with client needs.
• Proficiency in relevant software tools (e.g., Excel, SQL, Python/R or similar), and familiarity with climate or catastrophe modeling platforms is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in actuarial science, statistics, mathematics, finance, economics, engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• Experience in insurance, reinsurance, or brokerage environments, preferably in pricing, underwriting, or risk analytics roles.
