Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Ruby on Rails Developer. The developer will design, build, and maintain web applications that power the IFI digital experience, including participant platforms, content portals, and internal tools. Day-to-day tasks include implementing scalable back-end services, integrating front-end interfaces with Ruby on Rails, writing clean and maintainable code, and ensuring application performance and security. The role involves collaborating closely with product, design, and content teams to translate show concepts and user needs into features, as well as writing tests, reviewing code, and supporting deployments. The developer will help optimize the platform for high-traffic events and continuously improve user experience across devices.

Qualifications

• Strong Back-End Web Development skills with Ruby on Rails, including APIs, database design, and performance optimization.
• Proficiency in Front-End Development using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and modern frameworks for responsive user interfaces.
• Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and clean, modular code practices.
• Experience working with the Model-View-Controller (MVC) architecture in web applications.
• Hands-on experience with Test Driven Development, automated testing, and continuous integration workflows.
• Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and version control systems such as Git.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in remote teams, communicate clearly, and manage tasks independently.
• Experience with deployment on cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Heroku) and basic DevOps practices is an advantage.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; prior work on media, gaming, or high-traffic consumer platforms is a plus.
