Python Backend Developer

Role Description This is a full-time, remote Python Backend Developer role. The developer will design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs that power the Kloud360 platform and other related products. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, scalable Python code, integrating databases and third-party services, optimizing performance, and ensuring security and reliability of backend systems. The role also involves collaborating with frontend developers, product managers, and domain experts, participating in code reviews, and contributing to architectural decisions. The developer will help improve existing features, implement new functionality, and support continuous deployment and monitoring processes.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development skills in Python, including experience with one or more frameworks (e.g., Django, Flask, FastAPI).
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and working with JSON-based web services.
• Solid understanding of relational and/or NoSQL databases, including schema design, querying, and optimization.
• Knowledge of software engineering best practices such as version control (Git), testing, debugging, and code review.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and deployment workflows (e.g., Docker, CI/CD pipelines, basic DevOps concepts).
• Ability to write secure, performant code and apply basic security principles to backend services.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with e-learning, compliance platforms, or maritime industry solutions is a plus.
• Comfort working across time zones and taking ownership of features from design through to production support.
