Senior Python Engineer
Company Description CodeKarma builds tools that bring real production behavior directly into the developer workflow, so teams can see what code actually runs and where issues originate. By connecting runtime data with source code, the platform helps engineers and AI agents understand real call paths, distinguish actively used code from dead code, and identify safe changes. This reduces time spent chasing context in dashboards and logs, enabling faster delivery, lower production risk, and less tech debt. CodeKarma enables teams to avoid blind refactors and guesswork, helping them ship changes with greater confidence and clarity.
Role Description As a Senior Python Engineer at CodeKarma, you will design, develop, and maintain backend services and tooling that connect production signals to source code. You will write clean, efficient Python code, build APIs and integrations with observability tools, and work closely with product and frontend teams to deliver features end-to-end. You will be responsible for reviewing code, mentoring peers, improving performance and reliability, and contributing to architectural decisions for scalable systems. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru South, where you will collaborate with cross-functional partners to refine requirements, troubleshoot production issues, and continuously improve the developer experience.
Qualifications
- Strong proficiency in Python, including experience building backend services, APIs, and developer tooling.
- Hands-on experience with distributed systems, microservices, and performance optimization in production environments.
- Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., logs, metrics, traces) and integrating them into developer workflows.
- Knowledge of modern software development practices, including version control (Git), testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and code review processes.
- Experience working with cloud platforms (such as AWS, GCP, or Azure) and container technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) is highly beneficial.
- Ability to translate product requirements into technical designs, with strong problem-solving and debugging skills.
- Comfort collaborating in an on-site environment, mentoring team members, and communicating clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in a senior or lead engineering role is preferred.
