Lead Software Engineer
"Required Skills & Experience
Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
Practical experience developing microservices and REST APIs.
Good understanding of event-driven architecture and asynchronous processing.
Experience with at least one enterprise messaging or streaming platform such as Kafka, Solace PubSub+, IBM MQ, or Event Mesh.
Experience with at least one database/data platform such as Oracle, MongoDB, Spanner, or Firestore.
Understanding of payment transaction lifecycles, including validation, routing, orchestration, status management, timeouts, retries, idempotency, and exception handling.
Experience working with Docker and Kubernetes-based environments.
Working knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, code quality, security scanning, and observability.
Experience troubleshooting applications in production environments.
Ability to convert business and functional requirements into technical designs and actionable development stories.
Understanding of secure coding principles and software engineering best practices.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.
Strong ownership mindset with the ability to drive tasks through to completion.
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
Experience in banking, payments, financial services, or transaction-processing platforms.
Experience with payment gateways, payment switches, clearing, settlement, or reconciliation systems.
Experience with Apigee or API management platforms.
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience with Kafka-based event streaming and event-driven microservices.
Experience with distributed transactions, eventual consistency, and resilient integration patterns.
Knowledge of observability platforms such as Splunk, New Relic, or Dynatrace.
Experience with performance engineering and API/load testing.
