Job Overview

We are looking for a Backend Engineer to develop, maintain, test, and troubleshoot backend components of the Cortex platform. The ideal candidate should have solid programming skills, experience with APIs and databases, and the ability to independently deliver assigned engineering tasks while following established architecture and development standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain backend services, APIs, and application functionality.
• Understand existing code, technical specifications, service dependencies, and application workflows.
• Analyze assigned backlog items and deliver tested solutions within agreed timelines.
• Develop and maintain REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems.
• Write clean, modular, reusable, and maintainable code.
• Perform unit testing, integration testing, debugging, and defect resolution.
• Investigate technical issues using application logs, database queries, and code analysis.
• Assist with production issue resolution and root-cause analysis.
• Optimize database queries and application performance where required.
• Collaborate with frontend, DevOps, data, and platform teams to resolve integration issues.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and sprint activities.
• Maintain technical documentation and follow established coding and deployment standards.
• Contribute to knowledge sharing and the transition of Cortex platform responsibilities.

Required Skills

• 5 8+ years of backend development experience.
• Hands-on experience with at least one backend language, such as Java, Python, C#, Go, or Node.js.
• Strong understanding of REST APIs, application logic, and service integrations.
• Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases.
• Knowledge of data structures, error handling, debugging, and performance optimization.
• Experience with unit testing, integration testing, Git, and code reviews.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and application deployment processes.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues independently and work within an existing codebase.
• Good communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Skills

• Exposure to microservices, cloud environments, distributed systems, and messaging technologies.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, monitoring tools, and production support practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum teams.
