Software Engineer – Python / Django

Country Delight is one of India's fastest-growing direct-to-consumer food brands — farm-to-home, zero adulteration, serving millions of households daily. We are building backend systems that need to be reliable, scalable, and fast. We want engineers who take ownership of what they ship, not just complete tickets.

What You Will Work On

• Develop, maintain, and optimise backend services using Python and Django
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs powering consumer-facing and internal platforms
• Work with NumPy and Pandas for data processing and reporting pipelines
• Debug, profile, and improve performance of production systems
• Collaborate with product, data, and infrastructure teams on scalable architecture decisions
• Write clean, well-documented code and participate in structured code reviews
• Assist in the deployment and maintenance of server-side components

What We Are Looking For

Must-have:

• 3–5 years of backend development experience with Python as the primary language
• Strong, production-level knowledge of Django — not just familiarity
• Solid understanding of REST API design, authentication, and database interactions
• Experience with PostgreSQL and/or MySQL in production
• Comfortable with Git and agile team workflows
• Immediately available or serving a notice period of 15 days or less

Strong differentiator (not a dealbreaker, but will move you to the top):

• Hands-on experience with microservices in production — inter-service communication (REST, gRPC, Kafka/RabbitMQ), data consistency across services

Good to have:

• Experience with NumPy and Pandas in a real data context
• Backend performance profiling and query optimisation
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and containerisation (Docker / Kubernetes)
• Prior experience in a D2C, food-tech, or high-growth startup environment
