Senior Front End Engineer - Build & Launch a New Customer Portal (Vue 3, Nuxt & AI-Driven Development) - Remote in India - UK Hours

We have an opportunity for a Senior Front End Engineer who has successfully launched customer-facing applications into production, to help build and launch our client's, next-generation customer portal using Vue 3, Nuxt, TypeScript and Tailwind.

Working within a cross-functional product squad, you'll own features from concept through to release, helping deliver a modern frontend experience through reusable components, AI-assisted development, high-quality testing, and engineering best practices.

ROLE OVERVIEW

• You will be embedded full-time within a cross-functional product squad (Product Owner/BA, Backend Developer and QA) as an individual contributor.
• You will help build and launch our client's new customer portal, built from the ground up on Nuxt, Vue 3, TypeScript and Tailwind with a shared component library.
• This role suits an engineer who combines strong technical delivery with good product sense: builds reusable components, writes thorough tests, uses AI-assisted tools daily, and helps raise standards across the frontend team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Build and launch customer-facing features in the new portal, owning them end-to-end from refinement through testing, release and iteration after launch.
• Build reusable, well-documented components for the shared component library, treating performance and accessibility as everyday habits.
• Work confidently against REST APIs and debug issues across the frontend/backend boundary.
• Write unit and component tests (Vitest) alongside feature development, and build and maintain E2E test suites with Playwright.
• Use agentic coding tools (e.g. Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) daily to build features, and document internal patterns and prompts for the team.
• Help raise team standards through code reviews, pairing and worked examples.
• Work closely with Product, Design and Backend to deliver intuitive customer experiences.
• Contribute to architectural discussions and frontend best practices.
• Deliver small, demoable increments within two-week sprints and communicate asynchronously through clear written documentation.

MUST HAVES

• Experience launching customer-facing applications or portals into production.
• Experience introducing engineering practices into an existing team and lifting its standards.
• Strong understanding of frontend architecture, state management, performance and scalable component design.
• Strong hands-on experience with Vue 3 (Composition API), TypeScript and Tailwind.
• Experience with Nuxt, including routing, data fetching and state management (Pinia).
• Unit and component testing (Vitest, Vue Test Utils/Testing Library) and E2E testing (Playwright, including CI integration).
• Daily use of agentic AI tools for feature work, with the ability to explain concrete usage, limitations and prompting practices.
• A track record of working with high autonomy.
• Ability to cover working hours of roughly 12:30 to 18:00 IST for overlap with the UK.
• Excellent written and verbal English.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

• Turning designs or AI prompts into working, production-grade UIs.
• Working with design systems and UI frameworks, including building or maintaining a component library, ideally with Storybook.
• Deploying or working with applications on Google Cloud Run.
• Documenting reusable UI patterns and team-wide AI prompting techniques.
• Working on SaaS, subscription, telecom or customer self-service products.
• Evolving a customer-facing product after launch.
• Mentoring other developers.
• Balancing delivery speed with long-term maintainability.
• Familiarity with Vue 2 (Options API), for occasional code review on older platforms.
• Setting up feature flags for safe, gradual releases and frontend error monitoring.
