Senior Software Engineer

Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Software Engineer role located in the Greater Chennai Area, working with Wipro Technologies on projects for TD Bank. The person in this role will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs, ensuring scalability, security, and high performance for financial applications. Daily responsibilities include writing high-quality, object-oriented code, performing code reviews, debugging and resolving production issues, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams such as architects, QA engineers, and product owners. The Senior Software Engineer will contribute to technical design discussions, implement best practices in software development, and support continuous integration and deployment pipelines. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, improving engineering standards and processes, and ensuring adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements relevant to banking systems.

Qualifications

• Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, and software architecture principles.
• Hands-on experience in Software Development and Back-End Web Development, building and maintaining large-scale, distributed systems.
• Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in one or more modern languages (e.g., Java, C#, Python, or similar).
• Knowledge of RESTful API design, microservices, and secure coding practices for financial or other highly regulated environments.
• Experience with version control, CI/CD tools, and modern development workflows (e.g., Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or comparable tools).
• Familiarity with relational and/or NoSQL databases, performance optimization, and troubleshooting in production environments.
• Ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams, communicate complex technical concepts clearly, and mentor other engineers.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in banking, financial services, or other enterprise domains is an advantage.
