Manager – Product Development & Sourcing
About Shubh DarshanShubh Darshan is a D2C brand focused on creating and delivering meaningful devotional and spiritual products. We are looking for a hands-on Product Development & Sourcing Manager who can identify new product opportunities, source them from the right vendors, and take products from concept to market launch.
Role OverviewThe Manager – Product Development & Sourcing will be responsible for identifying, developing, sourcing, and launching new physical products for Shubh Darshan. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge of wholesale markets, manufacturers, vendors, product costing, negotiations, packaging, quality control, and end-to-end procurement.
This is a highly hands-on role requiring regular market visits and direct interaction with vendors and manufacturers.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify new devotional, spiritual, gifting, home décor, handicraft, and related consumer product opportunities through market and online research.
- Take products from idea and concept stage through sourcing, sampling, development, and final launch.
- Visit wholesale markets, manufacturers, suppliers, and vendor facilities to identify and evaluate potential partners.
- Source and onboard reliable vendors based on product quality, pricing, capacity, and delivery timelines.
- Evaluate product samples and coordinate modifications to meet quality, design, and customer expectations.
- Negotiate product pricing, MOQ, payment terms, lead times, and other commercial terms with vendors.
- Work closely with design and packaging teams to develop suitable product packaging and branding.
- Manage purchase orders and coordinate with vendors to ensure timely production and delivery.
- Conduct quality checks and resolve product or supply-related issues before stock receipt.
- Track product development timelines, inventory requirements, and vendor deliveries to ensure products are launched on schedule.What We’re Looking For
- 3–8 years of hands-on experience in product development, sourcing, buying, merchandising, or category management.
- Experience in physical consumer products, preferably in D2C, ecommerce, gifts, home décor, handicrafts, pooja/devotional products, or lifestyle categories.
- Proven experience taking a physical product from idea → sourcing → sampling → packaging → production → stock receipt → launch.
- Strong exposure to wholesale markets, manufacturers, and vendor facilities.
- Hands-on experience in vendor sourcing, price negotiation, MOQ negotiation, and vendor management.
- Good understanding of product costing, quality control, packaging, and procurement processes.
- Strong market research and product identification skills.
- Ability to work independently, move quickly, and take ownership of product launches.
- Willingness to travel locally and visit markets, manufacturers, and vendors as required.
