Program Manager – New Initiatives

Work Location: Mumbai / Bangalore

Experience: 5+years

Role Purpose

The Program Manager – New Initiatives will drive strategic, cross-functional, and high-priority initiatives sponsored by the CTO Office. The role will work across Technology, Business, Operations, Risk, and other functions to convert strategic priorities into structured programmes and ensure disciplined execution through to closure.

This role requires a strong combination of programme management, technology understanding, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and executive communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive strategic and special initiatives sponsored by the CTO Office from conceptualisation through execution and closure.
  • Translate broad objectives into clear workstreams, milestones, ownership, dependencies, and measurable outcomes.
  • Coordinate across multiple technology teams and business functions to ensure alignment and timely execution.
  • Establish programme governance, track progress, and proactively identify risks, dependencies, and execution gaps.
  • Drive the resolution of cross-functional issues by bringing together the right stakeholders and ensuring clear ownership.
  • Prepare concise programme updates, dashboards, and decision papers for senior leadership.
  • Track key decisions and action items and ensure commitments are followed through to closure.
  • Support technology transformation, operating model improvement, productivity, and other enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Conduct structured analysis of areas requiring CTO Office attention and recommend actionable solutions.
  • Step into high-priority or time-sensitive initiatives where dedicated execution focus is required.
  • Build effective working relationships with senior technology leaders, business teams, and enabling functions.
  • Bring structure and execution discipline to initiatives that may initially have limited definition or established governance.

Desired Profile

  • Strong programme/project management experience in complex, technology-led organisations.
  • Ability to independently drive large, cross-functional initiatives involving multiple senior stakeholders.
  • Good understanding of technology organisations, software delivery, platforms, infrastructure, and technology operations.
  • Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to work without direct authority.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create crisp, leadership-ready updates.
  • Comfortable operating in an environment with ambiguity, changing priorities, and tight timelines.
  • High ownership mindset with a strong bias towards execution and outcomes rather than coordination alone.
  • Experience in banking, financial services, or another large regulated enterprise would be an advantage.
