Java Backend Engineer (4 to 6 Years of Experience)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Java Backend Engineer with 4–6 years of experience to design, develop, and scale high-performance backend services for fraud detection and prevention platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable Java/Spring Boot microservices for high-volume transactions.
• Build REST APIs and event-driven services using Apache Kafka.
• Design and deploy applications on AWS.
• Work with MySQL/PostgreSQL, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
• Participate in system design, architecture discussions, code reviews, and pair programming.
• Own the end-to-end development lifecycle including development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Ensure solutions meet security, reliability, scalability, and compliance standards.
• Troubleshoot production issues and improve application performance and resiliency.
• Collaborate with product, architecture, DevOps/SRE, and other engineering teams.

Must-Have Skills

• 4–6 years of backend software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience in Microservices and REST API development.
• Hands-on experience with Apache Kafka and event-driven architecture.
• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Strong experience with MySQL and/or PostgreSQL.
• Good understanding of distributed systems, scalability, resiliency, and performance optimization.
• Experience with JUnit/Mockito, Git, CI/CD, and production troubleshooting.
• Strong understanding of secure coding and software development best practices.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Docker and Kubernetes
• AWS ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, CloudWatch
• Redis / Elasticsearch
• Terraform / Infrastructure as Code
• Jenkins / GitHub Actions / GitLab CI
• Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk
• Kafka Streams / Kafka Connect
• Experience in payments, financial services, fraud detection, or other high-volume transaction platforms
• Knowledge of Python or other server-side languages

Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or a related technical field.
