Senior Data Insights Analyst - Power BI Development
Role Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Data Insights Analyst with strong Financial Analytics expertise to design, develop, and maintain scalable financial dashboards and analytical models. This role partners closely with FP&A, Transformation, and business leaders to translate complex financial data into actionable insights that drive decision-making, productivity improvements, and cost optimization.
The ideal candidate blends technical Power BI excellence with a deep understanding of financial concepts, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
Power BI Development & Data Modeling:
- Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports focused on financial and operational performance.
- Develop robust data models using Power BI, Power Query, and DAX to support scalable financial reporting.
- Optimize report performance, data refresh cycles, and semantic models.
- Establish and maintain reporting standards, best practices, and governance for financial dashboards.
Financial Analytics & Insights:
Partner with FP&A and Finance leaders to support:
- Budgeting and forecasting
- Variance analysis (Actuals vs. Plan vs. Forecast)
- Cost center and productivity reporting
- KPI and metric definition
- Translate financial and operational data into clear, executive-ready insights.
- Support ad-hoc financial analysis and deep dives for leadership reviews and business cases.
Data Integration & Automation:
- Integrate data from multiple sources (e.g., ERP systems, Excel models, SQL databases, planning tools).
- Automate manual reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.
- Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and reconciliation with source financial systems.
Stakeholder Partnership:
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, Transformation, Operations, HR, and IT.
- Gather requirements, challenge assumptions, and recommend analytical approaches.
- Present findings and dashboards to finance partners and senior stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
Technical Skills:
- Strong hands-on experience with Power BI (Desktop, Service, data modeling).
- Advanced proficiency in DAX and Power Query (M).
- Experience working with financial data models and large, complex datasets.
- Strong Excel skills (advanced formulas, pivot tables, financial models).
- Experience with Google Big Query or similar tools (preferred).
Financial & Business Acumen:
- Solid understanding of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
- Experience supporting FP&A, cost management, or performance reporting.
- Ability to explain financial results and trends to non-finance audiences.
- Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail and data accuracy.
Education & Experience:
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in financial analytics, FP&A, corporate finance, or related roles.
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent undergraduate degree) in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in corporate finance, FP&A, or finance transformation environments.
- Familiarity with planning or ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, Adaptive).
- Experience supporting productivity, transformation, or cost optimization initiatives.
- Knowledge of data governance, controls, and audit considerations in finance reporting.
- Experience analyzing and reporting on workforce-related metrics (e.g., attrition, productivity, organizational structure, or labor cost drivers)
