Senior Applied AI Engineer

We're looking for a senior engineer to be the hands-on technical lead for our flagship agentic platform.

📍 Remote (3–4 hrs overlap with US Pacific time)

Your first 90 days

• Days 1–30: Take technical ownership of our platform, pressure-test the roadmap, run an end-to-end acceptance test and review the bandit/reward setup.
• Days 31–60: Close security, tenancy and reliability gaps; own one learning loop end to end; ship phase one of the MCP server.
• Days 61–90: Launch the supervised client pilot, ship an improved policy to live traffic behind guardrails, and publish engineering standards, an agent eval framework and a 6-month technical roadmap.

Must-have experience

• 6+ years building software or ML systems, including 3+ years shipping LLM-powered features to paying customers
• Production ownership of bandit or RL systems, including reward design and off-policy evaluation (research or notebooks alone are not enough)
• Strong grounding in probability, statistics and experimental design
• Experience as a technical lead while staying a hands-on IC: owning architecture, breaking down work, reviewing code (ideally remote, across time zones)
• Hands-on Python and TypeScript
• Track record of taking systems from "not ready" to production with honest estimates
• Clear written English: specs, decision records and status updates
• Daily use of AI coding agents, with discipline around testing and reviewing their output

Technical depth we're looking for

Agent architecture (tool-calling, planning, state, human-in-the-loop)

• LLM evaluation with CI regression gates
• Multi-model routing by cost/latency/quality
• Retrieval and context pipelines
• Prompt-injection defense and tenant scoping
• Real-time streaming AI against p95 targets
• Multi-tenant AWS, IaC, CI/CD, observability
• OAuth 2.x/OIDC and MCP

Nice to have

• Built or operated an MCP server or machine-to-machine APIs
• Real-time voice AI: SIP/WebRTC, streaming STT/TTS, latency tuning
• Browser SDKs or tags on third-party sites (Shopify apps, WordPress plugins, tag manager templates)
• Martech/adtech: CDPs, identity resolution, consent platforms, direct mail
• Usage-based metering and billing
• TCPA, CCPA/CPRA or GDPR compliance work
