Software Engineer — Mobile

Sevanun Private Limited
Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain Sevanun's patient-facing mobile application (iOS and Android) — used daily by patients and caregivers to monitor health, communicate with care teams, and access teleconsultation.
  • Implement real-time vitals data display, push notification systems, and alert workflows that connect patients to the Command Centre.
  • Develop the caregiver access feature — enabling family members, including those based overseas, to view their loved one's health status in real time.
  • Build and integrate teleconsultation flows within the app — scheduling, video/audio calls, and postconsultation summaries.
  • Work closely with the Product Designer and clinical team to translate care workflows into intuitive, accessible mobile experiences.
  • Ensure app performance, reliability, and security meet healthcare-grade standards — including data privacy compliance.
  • Contribute to API design and integration with the care platform backend, EMR, and Command Centre systems.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement cycles.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience in mobile application development (React Native preferred; native iOS/Android considered).
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and mobile UI frameworks.
  • Experience with real-time data (WebSockets, push notifications, live data feeds).
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and backend integration.
  • Understanding of mobile UX principles — especially for non-technical or elderly users.
  • Experience with app store deployment (Google Play and Apple App Store).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience building healthcare, medical, or patient-facing mobile applications.
  • Exposure to HL7 / FHIR standards or EMR/EHR integrations.
  • Experience with video/audio SDK integration (e.g. Twilio, Agora, or similar).
  • Familiarity with HIPAA or healthcare data privacy requirements.
  • Background in startups or early-stage product teams — comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration.
